Terrible experience. We checked in and got a room that was literally wrecked. Unsanitary bed sheets and broken toilet sink. We complained and they gave us their "Best Room" which was just marginally better than the one we initially got. The room was nothing like the photos. Smelled horribly. Wouldn't wish a minute stay in this hotel for my worst enemy.
The front desk wasn't able to help us cancel the reservation because they couldn't get a hold of the manager.
This hotel should not exist.

Do not stay here. I repeat, do not stay here. The exterior is scary to drive up to and the rooms are horrible and dirty. They attempted a remodel but failed. I didn’t have hot water, you can hear people casually walking in the next room. The filth of the bathroom area made me not want to touch anything and the sink was so scratched up that I didn’t want to even brush my teeth. The safe didn’t work or had zero power and the TV wanted to shut itself off every 3 minutes. I didn’t feel safe there and was nervous about my car in the parking lot. I was shocked that the Wyndham name is associated with this property, it should be removed instantly because it makes me not trust the brand. Find another hotel to stay in and pass this one by. I had one hour to get to a wedding or I would have left upon arrival.

The room was in disrepair. The bathtub had rust, the sink was stained, the bathroom door could not be shut all the way due to the floor strip coming up between the bathroom and bedroom. One closet door was off the track. The entry door was dented and hard to shut and lock. The room smelled really bad. We were very disappointed to say the least.

On September 11, 2024 I made a reservation through Zen Hotels for a room at the Howard Johnson’s (by Wyndham Phoenix/Airport Downtown Area) in Phoenix, AZ, for the night of September 18. I drove to the hotel around 11:00pm and proceeded to the hotel’s lobby entrance. As I opened the door there were two men blocking my path. They asked me what I wanted and I replied that I had a reservation for the night. They told me that the hotel “was for homeless people” and that I couldn’t stay there. When I showed them my reservation — one of them grabbed it, waded it up, threw it into the parking lot and told me to get off the property. I left and walked fifty feet to my truck where I started to make a phone call. Before I knew it, the two men from the lobby were there pounding on my truck yelling obscenities and telling me to get off the property. I slept in my truck.

Me and my ladyfriend needed to get away from the stress and drama in our lives for a night so I got us a room at this hotel on January 29th 2025 i paid 97.00 online for it in advance thru a travel site comparison site called trivago I paid for this hotel on booking.com to be exact and i was really impressed with the pictures I saw so I booked it and paid for it but when I got there and paid the required 40.00 refundable deposit and got the room I was horrified by the fact the bathtub had what looked like a bullet hole in it and because of that i was terrified to even take a shower in that bathroom because of that it's in a very very dangerous area of the city was promised a free breakfast in the morning but when I called the front desk I was told there was no free breakfast it is not a great value it's to quiet not kid friendly it is not a safe hotel at all not walkable at all not worth your money when you find a bullet hole in your rooms bathtub thinking what if someone was killed in that bathroom and you are to afraid to bathe yourself because of that high probability do not get room 116 because there is a bullet hole in the bathtub and the hot water doesn't work properly it stays cold

Take detailed pictures or they will lie and charge you for things you didn't do. Filthy room's, filthy refrigerator, never dusted. Didn't even stock enough towels. Would not recommend.

Gentlemen of booking, honestly you must improve your property verification system it is very disappointing to arrive tired at a hotel and get that this is a bad-looking place, Hotel of very poor quality, the facilities are deplorable, in a very notorious state of deterioration, it is nothing like the images they publish, honestly the worst hotel where I could stay, they offer breakfast and this is something fraudulent since it is not true.
