I had a wonderful three-night stay at Hotel Shattuck Plaza during a recent business trip to Berkeley. The location couldn’t have been better — close to the Berkeley campus, the BART station, and lots of great restaurants. The staff was warm and polite throughout my stay, and a special thanks to Castro for her kindness and excellent lunch recommendation.

My room was clean, quiet, and beautifully appointed. I especially loved the comfortable bed, soft linens, and perfect pillows — plus I was lucky enough to have a view of the Golden Gate Bridge! Although the hotel’s restaurant was just okay, everything else more than made up for it. The bar can get lively in the evenings, but my floor remained quiet, and I slept really well.

Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area for business or leisure!

Great staff - valet, bartender, check in & check out. Pet friendly. Ice cold, flavored water in lobby. Walking distance from the Greek Theater. Clean, nice room & shower. Fridge in room. Complimentary Champagne upon arrival. PHENOMENAL breakfast room service. Couldn't have asked for more!

Hotel was very nice. Pillows and bed extremely comfortable. Dropped one star for the restaurant. Don't go to this restaurant if you are on a schedule, especially for breakfast. I was late for work twice because it took forever. Dinner was better except for 1 time which also took forever. Otherwise, highly recommended!

The hotel was very nice and close to campus. The room was very comfortable and the drink at food at the Zino Bar were very tasty. Close to campus and lots of excellent dinning options. Hotel staff were very accommodating and made sure that my stay was enjoyable and very comfortable.

Nice, quaint, old-fashioned hotel close to the Cal campus, and access to shopping and food options. Street parking was adequate for our needs but could be complicated on busier weekdays. Being right in town the cost was reasonable. Overall, the hotel is a bit dated, but still very functional and comfortable.

Reliable option in the center of Berkeley. I stayed at this hotel 4 nights, in 2 separate occasions. On the first one, the room was a bit warmer than I would have liked. Other than that it was comfortable, with good beds and decent pillows.

The second time, the room was a bit bigger and the temperature was better. However, my parents were not very comfortable as the layout of their bed made it difficult for my dad to walk by his side of the bed.

The Hotel Shattuck Plaza is a beautifully iconic, turn of the century architectural building, who's scale and finish exemplifies the era if was constructed. It rivals newer high quality boutique hotels in service and accommodation throughout the country. I found it to be extremely comfortable and easily accessible while being located in the heart of downtown, and within easy walking distance to U.C. Berkeley.
