Food was fantastic. Paid $65 for 3 people and even had leftovers for 2 more days. Very quiet location with friendly staff.

Great BBQ here. Got a pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious. The staff were super nice and went above and beyond. Highly recommend this little place. Some of the best BBQ I've had. Smoked just right. No bitter ash here. Just delicious smoked meats.

Wanted to have ribs but they were out. So have to come early if you’d like ribs. The pulled pork was good, as well as the baked beans. Hubby said his regular chicken plate was good. I liked the homemade style cut fries. The mild bbq sauce is vinegary based, so if that’s not your thing, maybe get the sweet bbq sauce. Pound cake came with the meal and we liked it. 2 pieces of Plain old white bread, not grilled.

It was ok. There was very little meat on the ribs for what you pay for. The sauce is pretty terrible, very acidic. not sure what style they were going for. Prices were fair, other than the ribs. The fries were boring. Not sure what all the hype is about. Pretty sure the folks around here haven't had good bbq. The staff was nice though

The normal wait for a hamburger is 15 minutes longer. Everyone that came in after us got their food before us. I went to the counter and was told they had a lot of burger orders. Well about 45 minutes later finally got the burger and it was completely cold! Asked for our money back and the cashier ignored the request..This restaurant needs help with how they service their customers! Do yourself a favor and make the drive to somewhere else. No apologies just bad bad bad

This has to be the very very best southern barbecue we’ve ever eaten. We are extremely picky. Everything is so fresh and all homemade. Even the bread ( I believe ). The pound cake is most definitely home made AND it’s every bit as delicious as my mum’s homemade pound cake. Their sauces are home made, the coleslaw with a touch of relish makes it special. The portions are HUGE!! The prices are not outrageous. We will be back here to camp at Frank Jackson state park and will look forward to eating at Hooks again. Wow what a great barbecue!!

Absolutely delightful customer service. They gave us free sweet tea when they noticed we didn’t order any with our food. Hands down some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had, and the sweet tea is brewed perfectly.

Top notch local BBQ with great service and great prices. The taste was fantastic and better than any BBQ chains we’ve visited in AL. The pork with the hot BBQ sauce, onion rings, cole slaw, beans and potato salad were superb.
