Room reeks of cigarettes, there were iron marks in the carpet. No light bulbs in the bedside lamps, stains in bed sheets and linens. Roaches in the bathtub. A hole in the bathroom ceiling. Spiders in the corners of the room. I'm terrified of spiders. Great tv. Had a microwave and mini fridge. Spent $75 and $5 extra for second bed. ?

Rooms are seriously nasty. Gross stuff all over walls. Was eatin up by fleas. And its 60 something a night. Wth. Seriously not satisfied and itchy. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. They don't have shampoo towels are brown and stained. Carpets are so dirty especially noticeable under furniture. Also our tv is stuck on porn. Just dirty sketchy all around.

It's horrible. The owner and staff are terribly rude (as are the guest) and also liers. They will tell you one price than give you another when you go to pay. They will say you have a king size bed then give you a full. They will deny you for your service dog (witch is illegal). The place is disgusting the rooms are disgusting and smell of cigarettes the sheets and towels are stained and have cigarette burns in them. They only do house keeping every four days if you need something before then get it yourself. There are bed bugs and roaches. They say you have a kitchenette but your really have a mini fridge and a microwave that don't work. Half of the lights don't work and no hot water. There are fights in the middle of the night and when you make a complaint your yelled at and threatened to have the cops called on you. There are drug addicts and sex workers. All in all it's an amazing place to go if you need to earn some fast money or find a dealer other than that stay away ESPECIALLY if you have kids.

Stopped here based on the one review saying its was good for the value. What a mistake! While the front desk attendant was cordial, the rooms are completely unacceptable. The doorknob to the room was loose, curtains won't close all the way, peeling paint on the walls, lopsided mirror, worn out sheets, dingy looking pillows, bathroom tile & corners need serious scubbing & towels that feel like mild brillo. ||||Now I understand inexpensive but regardless, there should be SOME standards.||||Do NOT stay here.

I stayed at this hotel two times within a 2.5 weeks duration. I was on a road trip by myself, and the long hour drives in between destinations made me have to stop and spend the night somewhere. I had previously looked up (Villa Lodge) Homewood Lodge, and it was the cheapest /safest looking place I could find in Birmingham, AL.||||Name Change: Used to be Villa Lodge||||Price: Used to be $31, now the cheapest room is $45.60 (total) + $5 refundable deposit. (make sure you get this rate, the guy tried to charge me more the first night, but i told him that i had called in beforehand and 39.99 was the rate I had been told)||||Noise level/Safety: It was a very quiet place to stay. There are three locks on the door (auto locks when you leave your room, so make sure you always have the key). Even though there were so many locks, (suspicious WHY they needed so many locks, I still felt safe being a single 20's female)||||Cleanliness: Very clean, for a what, a 2 star hotel? ||||Management: I was greeted by the same guy at all visits to the office on both nights I stayed there. Very friendly. Foreign, but spoke English very well. ||||Tips: (1) Heaters: They work, but you have to put it on a number lower than 12. And it's not really hot enough to warm up the room when it's 40 degrees outside. There's a huge cold draft that comes in from under the door. Hopefully, you get the bed not near the door.||(2) Single Travelers: Ask for room #13, tell them you will only use one bed. It's a smoking room, but it did not smell like smoke. (i do not smoke).||||Included: TV, bar soap, cups. *Make sure you bring toothpaste and shampoo, there is none provided.||||Also: There is a Walgreens right next door if you ever need anything.

Was told the room was $210, turned out to be $250 plus a $25 deposit for a room that was supposed to have a king sized bed-was a full sized bed for adults and 2 children. They said they only have housekeeping every 4 days and if you want stuff cleaned before then to wash yourself. Floors are NASTY, there were bugs and bed bugs. Other guests were doing drugs on property. 1st night there was a big fight and the owners did nothing. If i had another option I would stay under a bridge.

Absolutely horrible experience. They will only give you 1 key upon check in. Additional keys are $25 and if you misplace your room key (even if you think you left it in the room) they charge $25 which is absolutely ridiculous. The service is horrible. The staff treats guests very badly. I would stay as far away from this place as possible.
