Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kanab, an IHG Hotel - Kanab, Utah

This hotel is really riding on the HIE branding to bring people in and not living up to those expectations. Besides being very dated, my room did not feel clean. The shower had mold and mildew. I didn’t want to walk on the carpet without socks on. On the plus side, the staff were nice, it’s in a good location, and breakfast was pretty good. But this is not a 4.2/5 place to stay. I believe they’ve started remodeling the third floor, so maybe when that’s done, this will be a more attractive option.

We enjoyed our two night stay in Kanab and in this hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast service was great. You can always rely on Holiday Inn Express for consistent quality. The only problem we are having, since covid, is they have communal soaps and shampoo which is fine. However the staff does not fill the containers up after every customer. We ran out of soap which is unacceptable. Tried to be helpful and told the staff as we checked out and all we got for our trouble was " Well we do our best" Your best would be to fill the containers after every customer. This is not the only Holiday Inn Express in which we had this problem. Either fix this problem or go back to individuals soaps and shampoos or we may need to start using another hotel chain.

We picked Kanab as a base for our vacation to Zion, Bryce, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The Holiday Inn we stayed at was well located in Kanab, just across the street from a grocery store and a great restaurant as well as near a gas station.

Everyone we interacted with at the hotel was super nice and helpful and that's generally the most important thing!

The hotel itself was perfectly adequate for our needs and was great for the value it provided. All we were looking for a was a secure place to hold our stuff while we were out, and a clean and comfortable place to sleep and this hotel met those requirements perfectly. We would stay here again.

Some of the kindest staff members I have met at IHG. Location was also great.

Unfortunately the room and bathroom were dirty. There were used cups left and lots of hair (short black so maybe a dog or cat) in between the sheets, on the pillows, and covering the top of the bed.

Renovations were going on but I never had any trouble with noise at night.

We chose this hotel because of value & reviews that appeared to be favorable but were misled by the reviews.
The decor was very dated & dim. The room layout was poor. You don’t provide a sitting area with a couch & have no tv. The couch was very u comfortable as well & the room was dark. We didn’t complain while we were there because it was a 3 nite stay & we didn’t want to move all of our stuff.
The hot tub did not work & the breakfast was subpar. I asked for gluten free options and was told there were none, but you can have bananas or oranges.
I would never recommend this hotel.

We didn’t have to big expectations for this place but it was a surprise ! Very clean, nice big rooms, the beds very comfy. We used a jacuzzi after long hike and pool. Great ,clean as well. Very nice ,friendly stuff! Great location just across the road from 2 great restaurants that can accommodate dietary needs. This hotel really was a great choice,highly recommend .

After arriving in the early evening, we discovered they did not have hot water. When inquiring they said an emergency call had been placed for someone to come check it. I felt we should have been told when checking in. They did get hot water after finding out the propane tank was empty, only to have issues again the next day. They were remedied during the day and we did not have hot water issues after that. The manager, Tim, was extremely nice and helpful during our stay. It was a great location for Zion National Park. The hotel is about to undergo badly needed renovations.

The hotel itself was a bit further away from Bryce Canyon than we realized but the employee who took care of the breakfast area made it all worth it!! She was so kind and had a very friendly demeanor. She constantly came around to each guest asking how we were and if we needed anything. She kept all areas clean! There were a group of young men sitting near us and one tipped her well because he liked her attitude!
