This was the most awful hotel stay I have ever experienced! First of all, the rooms were not available at 3 o’clock for check in as they should have been. We had to sit in the lobby and wait until around 4. The ladies up front kept saying it’s because they had 3 maids to clean 60 rooms. I understand that but the thing is that’s not the customers fault. We were not the only people waiting on our rooms. There should have been something done to help accommodate the guests, a discount, drinks and snacks (we had several children with us), something! The hallways REAKED like someone was in their room smoking weed. The maintenance mad was in the hallways yelling profanities and throwing trash around. The room had 2 towels, in a room that’s supposed to accommodate 4 guests. When I called to the front desk to request more I could not get them to answer the phone. I tried using my cell phone as well and there was no luck there either. I sent my teenagers down and they were told that towels were being washed and it would be 30 more minutes. They went back down on time and were given one towel and several hand towels. When we asked for two extra blankets they literally said there weren’t any and gave me 2 mattress protectors!!!! There were other people in our party who had blood on the sheets, disgusting stains on the recliner in the room, a musty smell in the room, and water leaking onto the floor from the a/c, causing the whole carpet on that side of the room to be soaked. When the complaints were taken to the ladies at the front desk there was nothing done to help any of these situations! The lady working the front desk said she knew about the blood on the sheet because “she does the laundry!” I was blown away at how little they seemed to want to make anything better! They also made sure to let us know there were not going to be any refunds given!

First I would like to say that the front desk clerk I believe her name was Monica was super helpful. The first room I was checked into had a nasty brown stain on the sheets so she was super embarrassed and happily changed me into another room. On first glance I thought ok but then I noticed the following issues:
1- The bed had no top sheet just a fitted bottom sheet then the comforter and the bottom sheet had several small holes in it. Also the bed was super firm and very uncomfortable.

2- The carpet had a big rip in it and there were several places where there was a void in the underlayment and you could feel them as you walked across the floor.

3- The couch had a rip in it and cushions were stained.

4- The chair at the table had a big nasty stain on it as well.

5- The bathroom had several patches that were substandard.

This hotel is no longer a Holiday Inn and is now a Comfort Inn. The hotel is very tired and in need of a remodel. I was very disappointed in my stay but being a truck driver I didn’t have the hours to find another hotel. I will not be staying here again until it has been remodeled.

Very friendly staff. But, the hotel needs some work.
Cracked tiles, a small hole in the wall of our bathroom, really hard beds, one of the elevators was broken for part of our trip.
The 1st day there was a breakfast food shortage & I heard complaints about watered down Apple juice. The pool was also closed for maintenance.

On the good side, the A.C. was working very well. Great coffee & our room & the lobby were really clean.

Do not stay here. Not clean. I would give no stars if I could. First room was not clean and had a foul odor. The front desk was very pleasant and apologized and got us another room. It was cleaner than the first room. With the exception of the darkening curtains that had something smeared on them. The bathtub didn’t look like it had been cleaned and the water constantly dripped. We didn’t realize until the morning that the room was missing the microwave. And to give one last great impression the elevator did not work in the morning. This is the worst Holiday Inn I have had the misfortune of staying at.

I stayed last Friday night. 08/27. I had planned on staying two nights. I got there about 9:30pm. I had stayed at this hotel 3 or 4 years ago and was excited to stay there again. Always loved their coffee. Once I checked in, I waited for a cart for my luggage. I stepped over to the table with a black table cloth. The table cloth was wrinkled and looked like it had been used a few times. The lady at the front desk could not find a cart. I finally decided to just to make it work. I toted my stuff to my room. As soon as I opened my door, I knew this was a bad decision to stay at this hotel. My room smelt really bad. The A/C had a hard time keeping up. The room and bath still had food on the floor from who might have been there last. I had my dinner in a bag. There was no place in my room that I felt good about taking my food out of the bag.
I was just disgusted. I didn’t want to touch the remotes or anything. It was late so I just went to bed. The Next morning I knew I couldn’t stay another night. I went down to the small breakfast the hotel had sat out on the same black table cloth that was there the night before. No hot breakfast. Which I knew before I arrived that there would not be a hot breakfast. But No coffee. Extremely frustrated. The guy that came on that morning looked like he had just rolled out of bed. He didn’t know anything he said. He had just arrived. I realize this is Denison. But why. Just Nasty. I checked out. I won’t be back.
Sad that poor management has let this place go. If your coming through Denison, keep going. Head on to McKinney or further South. I did see that Sherman is building two new hotels. Looking forward to the for next year.

Great, friendly front desk staff. Breakfast is awesome. Rooms very clean, but need some cosmetic work. Some of the housekeeping staff not so friendly. Indoor pool and hot tub, however very sauna like until you get in the water.

We usually have great experience with Holiday Inn but this time wasn't good. When we got to our room the room was still dirty, beds not made, bathroom was trashed and the A/C didn't work. We got moved to a different room and it didn't have towels, phone didn't work, and they had to move a fold out bed to our room in which it made the room way to cluttered. We booked this one so we could swim with our kids. When we get settled in, they tell us that the pool is broke and the water was brown. We were told the pool was good when we booked a day before.

Bad, if you have options I would suggest you take them. The young woman at the front desk was as helpful as possible. However, the bed linens seemed unchanged and the bed spread was stained with numerous suspect yellow stains. All in all, just not clean. Consider this, if the owner will not or can not clean the sheets imagine the breakfast kitchen and food served! I decided to avoid that adventure.
