We chose this hotel for the heated pool and even called ahead to assure it was available for use and were told yes. We checked in and the front desk staff hesitated then told us well the heater is broken and the water is freezing. Ugh. Ok we drove 11 hours and hoped for a quiet comfy room at least. There were kids running the halls and opening and closing doors all night, next door and across the hall from us. The apartments next door were blasting music as well. We turned up the tv. The air/heat unit was falling apart and didn’t seem to work right. We told the front desk staff in the morning and they didn’t seem to care. We got thru the night and woke up to shower and there were multiples hairs in the shower and sink as well as tears in the shower curtain. I wrote a lovely review for our precious stay at another location but I don’t recommend this one. No offense but it needs work. I was so sad not to have biscuits and gravy on the breakfast and found a hair in my egg and cheese omelet.

The cleaning staff is not thorough. Common areas filthy. Excellent breakfast. Filthy rugs at entrance (weather was fine). Filthy elevator carpet and it smelled. Handprints all over stainless steel. Carpet edges not clean in halls. Great breakfast. Low cost.

There was a rough odor from walking into the main lobby, elevator and into the 3rd floor hallway.

After check in, one of our rooms wouldn’t even lock at the door. We were assigned a new room. The lady who helped us was knowledgeable and hospitable.

The TVs in rooms didn’t work, some of the USB charging ports in walls were not working, and the HVAC fell like it was just pulling in outside air. Walls were paper thin and you could hear people in the hallways and through the walls. The fridge in one room was running loud like it was on its last leg.

The breakfast had minimal food out or being replenished. It also looked very questionable.

If I were staying on vacation for longer than the day or two, I would have found a different hotel.

My family and I have stayed here a few times over the years. This last visit will be our last. The place has become dirty and run down. The pool was out of order all 5 days we were there, I am a member but was never told when I booked. I have 2 autistic boys and were very disappointed. The halls smelled of mildew, there was trash under the bed. The shower was nasty, barely sprayed water. We never had room service, I had to ask for anything we needed, never cleaned or made the beds. The elevator was so creepy and banging around my boys refused to use it, did not feel safe! Never again!!

Is this the worst hotel you will stay at? No. Is it a good hotel? Also no. The room was clean…enough. The beds were mostly comfortable. The air conditioner mostly cooled the room appropriately. And that’s where the good stuff ends.
First, the reservation system was a mess. They made a big stink when we requested changing from a pet friendly room to a non pet friendly room due to my mom’s allergies.
Then, they called to see when we would show up to check in. Initially my parents said 5pm, but on the day of, we were running late. So we tried to call the front desk multiple times throughout the day as we drove and only got a busy signal. When we arrived, my mom mentioned it to the lady at the front desk who upfront denied any issues with the phones but also mentioned she hasn’t gotten many calls that day. Hm. Maybe because it’s a busy signal. lol.

Now let’s talk about breakfast. There are reviews about the breakfast being great. Could maybe be true if you happen to show up when the food has been restocked. Every time my family and I went down, it was a ghost town on the food front. Things had run out, and you’d have to find the worker to have her restock. Once, she brought out omelets that were still cold and said to use the microwave to warm them up. Eventually she brought them back to heat up herself. Guests were laughing at how absolutely ridiculous the breakfast options were. The pancake maker had a broken sign the first day we were there, and the second day it didn’t but still wasn’t working properly. It was literally a joke among the guests. And if you go down at 9am even though breakfast goes till 9:30, don’t expect to eat anything but cereal. There will be no food left.

Another note is the quality of the redesigned rooms and “new modern fixtures”.
A shelf in our room was loose, the sink faucet in the bathroom had insane water pressure that sprayed everywhere, and then the shower faucet had super low water pressure.
It was clear there had been patching on the drywall that was poorly done, and the caulking around the toilet was insane. They did a quick cover up and that pretty much summarizes everything about this experience. Looks good at a quick glance, but the longer you’re there, the grosser it becomes. There were no places to put your towels, the bathtub was discolored, and it seemed like all the outlets kinda sucked. One USB outlet was broken. The pool was also out of order and clearly has been for some time according to the reviews. It didn’t look any cleaner. There were also odd gas and sewage smells around the elevator.

Are all these first world problems? Sure. But they are also the bare minimum for all hotels.

Go to the Hampton Inn next door.

I have been a Holiday Inn member for 20 years and I don’t think after this stay I will ever stay at another holiday and ever again there were people smoking weed right outside the entranceway all the doors locks were broken. Did not feel safe. My hotel room had a dog barking 24 seven next-door Could hear it clear as day in my room place was dirty. The elevator was jumpy with no certificate or record of safety the front desk lady was the only bright spot. She tried to give me a small discount on the bill for the dog barking all night, but it still didn’t convince me that I’ll ever stay at this or another Holiday Inn again

Our room was not clean. We were assured the next day, the room would be cleaned, but it still was not vacuumed or the toilet paper pieces were not picked up off of the bathroom floor From the people that stayed in here before us. after the third day of complaining, we were assured that it would be cleaned and vacuumed that day, but as usual, upon getting back to the room late in the evening, it was still the same as it was the day before, only new towels were put in the bathroom. Very disappointing! We decided to just finish out to stay and make it work best as we can. It is highly unlikely that we will stay in this hotel again!
