If I could give it a ZERO, I would. Toilet leaking water Saturday after we checked in & unpacked. Front desk notified & said will put on list to be fixed. WE were the ones to put towels down & try to decrease it. Monday morning @ 0430 I almost slipped & fell because the towels were saturated. Husband went down Monday 0800 & spoke with manager who said it was on list to be fixed Monday. We left hotel @ 0800 & returned @ 6:30pm to find our hotel room open with ALL OUR BELONGINGS in our room with bathroom floor flooded with water again. Does this hotel NOT have maintenance |Went to speak to manager who only said “ I’m sorry” no explanation or anything. Started yelling at my husband to lower his voice & stop yelling as she stood there with her hands on her hips with an attitude. No empathy for the flooding or leaving all my personal belongings up for grabs. I politely asked her to come see all the flooding & she refused. Said she already saw it. Maybe SHE left the door ajarManager needs some reverse racism training because she has horrible attitude. Rest of front desk staff friendly, no issues.| |Garbage left out in bins for days outside elevator. No working smoke detector in new room. Battery torn out & wires hanging. Bedding stained. We have stayed here past 5 years without issues. Apparently upper management does NOT visit this site because it’s time to clean out this current crew.

I am a Silver Elite Member for 30+years and have never stayed in a worse IHG property ever! We walked up to the door and the floor outside in front of it was scattered with trash and filth. We went in and the carpet was dirty and covered in stains from pets I assume! The entire ceiling was covered in filth and dust and cob webs! I woke up several times to this nasty pungent odor of mold! There was massive deferred maintenance and was simply not being cleaned. Filthy dirty! I think I am done with you all, I’m serious, I could have stayed anywhere else and I guarantee it would have been cleaner!

This place was gross. Easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, and I'm platinum elite and travel often. Thankfully our family only booked this hotel for one night, and only because the hotel was on our route to Florida and it was dog friendly. The latest reviews on Google really praised the hotel, so I feel completely misled after my own experience. This Holiday Inn was clearly an older hotel that was renovated at some point to look like the newer IHG hotels, but the remodel = lipstick on a pig. We checked in at 11pm with 2 very tired kids and a dog to a room that smelled very musty and had a strong cigarette odor. The ceiling had black stains.. either from smoking or mold. My 9 month old was coughing all night. In the bathroom the toilet paper holder was broken. There was mold in the shower. The caulk around the tub was either missing or completely moldy. The floor tiles were cracked. This bathroom was completely neglected during the renovation and needed not only a deep cleaning but a lot of work. I found a big hole in the duvet on one of the beds. The fluff was coming out. Lots of random stains all over the room–on the walls, ceiling, furniture... Thankfully no bedbugs. The fridge door, and the door handle to the room were both sticky. Floor was gross, so we wore our shoes. $50 for dog fee was laughable. I would never stay here again. This place was disgusting. I could barely sleep because of the musty/cigarette smell. If we hadn't checked in so late and my kids weren't passed out on the beds, I would have changed rooms or just left. The morning couldn't come fast enough. I couldn't wait to leave that place.

Pros bed was very comfortable, room clean and had adequate towels, lotion, soap. Has microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker, ironing board and iron. Breakfast was very good with eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, cereals, yogurt, muffins, coffee, juices, milk. Staff friendly.
Cons. Should have had more than one person handling check in for a large group of expected guests. Some didn't have a room ready at the 3 pm arrival. Only one elevator worked. Card keys had to be redone on some including mine.

Wonderful stay. Check in was easy. King size bed. Hot water in shower. Clean room. Microwave. Fridge. Coffee maker. Small desk for working. Check out was easy. Did not try the breakfast. Elevator was quick and clean inside. Driveway leading up to hotel is steep. Careful during snowy/icy weather conditions.

We are staying here for one night and this is one of the dirtiest hotel rooms I have ever been In.
The bathroom had grimy feeling floors, the tub was dirty, and even the towels were tinted yellow. The plastic container with the QR codes was even super sticky.
Then the side doors were absolutely not secure, and the elevators were definitely on their last leg. We will definitely not be returning

The room was fine other than a noisy fan on the A/C. And some of the lotions and soaps were very runny and looked like they weren't wiped down good. The floor in the dining area was slippery and didn't feel clean.

I stayed here a couple of years ago and it was nice and well maintained. It is starting to show some signs of wear and tear, and maintenance is lacking. One elevator was out and the inside of the windows in my room look like they had not been cleaned in weeks, maybe months. The fitness room was not clean and in general the property looked a little neglected. It is a good location just off of I-20 coming into Birmingham, so it probably gets a lot of traffic. You would think it stays pretty full and should have the profit to keep it well kept.
