We traveled to the coast to Bakersfield for a next day business meeting. The weather was in the high 90's when we arrived and over 100 the day we left. Certainly NOT used to this kind of dry, hot weather. Upon arrival, the young lady working as the desk clerk was very welcoming and sympathetic about the weather. She made us feel that everything would be okay! She asked where in the hotel we would like to stay, what would be convenient for us, first floor for convenience or top floor for quietness. We appreciated that choice. We felt she went out of her way to be welcoming and wanting us to be comfortable. During our stay she politely answered questions that we had.

The room was very modern and especially the bathroom was quite modern and roomy. Also, they had a wonderful selection for breakfast and a staff member was constantly adding more food items and tidying up around the food service area. They even came to our table and asked if we would like anything else. This was a wonderful experience at this hotel.

The remodel on this hotel was great. It is beautiful and the rooms are well done. Breakfast was great.

There are many homeless in the area. We did not feel safe in the parking lot at night and were confronted by homeless several times. There are gates at both ends of the parking lot but they were always open instead of having to call the front desk or use your key card for entry. This allowed the homeless to enter and harass guests without restriction. The front desk clerks were tasked with patrolling the parking lot which often left the desk unattended.

We were treated well as Diamond Elite IHG members but there was no Diamond Elite parking.

The pillows were very comfortable. The room was very clean. I felt very welcome upon arrival and check-in was very quick and effortless. Breakfast was great and even included biscuits and gravy, where else do you get a quick breakfast that includes that? Appreciated all the staff, they were polite and super nice. Check-out was effortless as well. We had gone to Buck Owen's Crystal Palace and this was a quick easy place to get to to stay overnight after being there late and drinking, so we didn't have to drive. We really appreciate the locked parking as well as the security officer in the parking lot as well. Recoomend this place for sure, this was our second stay in fact.

This was quite a nice hotel, in Bakersfield! To me, Holiday Inn is known for comfort 'at a price.' That was not the case here; lobby was lovely, room was comfortable and roomy, breakfast choices were superb. I wish the pool had been heated, but one cannot have everything I would stay here again without reservation.

This was an amazing hotel staff was very friendly. Rooms were very clean, bed, clean and fresh. It smelled so fresh once we had arrived. The breakfast was very good. Plenty of options for the family. There's a lot of food places nearby, but our favorite was The Blvd right across the street from the hotel room, it has plenty of fun activities. And food options for family and friends.

The only reason for a lower rating was the noise of the freeway. I usually request the non traffic side only because we live where it is very quiet so the noise is too much. And the breakfast although had a bunch of options, a bit bland on the hot food items. Can't complain much because there were a lot of other things to eat. The beds were just a bit too firm for our liking but otherwise the room was awesome! Microwave, frig, coffee, small sink. Don't need anything else. Great stay!
