John was an excellent host who made us a phenomenal breakfast from his garden!

We stayed in the Frances room which is perfect for a couple and it was pleasant being awoken by a few cute roosters in the morning.

We will be excited to stay here if we're ever in the area again, and will hopefully be able to meet Vicky next time.

Step back into history with all of the modern comforts and conveniences. John and Victoria have created a home of sumptuous time travel. The beds and bath are beautifully decorated, sparkling and full of visual delights.|The breakfast is a gourmet feast. Visiting Roseburg is an easy walk through a charming town full of antique and thrift shops. Good restaurants are just down the street. The grounds are gardened and bursting with plant life. Jon and Victoria are welcoming and easy going. They communicate well and operate clearly and as stated. Great rates for such exciting, delicious, historic accommodations.

My husband and I were on a genealogy adventure! We can tracked his ancestors back to the Roseburg area from the 1890s to World War II! He surprised be with this tranquil Bed and Breakfast for our stay! I was transported back to a simpler time! It put be in a perfect frame of mind for our trip to the Douglas County Museum, which is a must see! Thank you for John for an out of this world breakfast and old fashioned hospitality!

I am going to come back with my friends on a girls’ trip!

One of the best stays I've ever had! John is a wonderful host. Very kind and great man. The room is extremely clean and the whole property is just gorgeous! Very cool to get to stay in a piece of history like this. The breakfast he made us was fantastic! I will absolutely be adding this as a must stop on all our future trips through this area. If your looking for a clean room, a great breakfast, and a wonderful host. Look no further!

This is one of the most beautiful houses I've ever seen before even stepping inside. John has a beautiful garden that is well-loved and taken care of. Stepping foot into the guesthouse and walking into my room I sat on the bed and went straight to sleep. It was surprising at how comfortable the room was, I've never stayed anywhere near this nice and I don't think I've ever been able to sleep as well as I have here. John will make you breakfast and was extremely accommodating when I asked for an 8:30 serving time. The guesthouse is located within walking distance of Roseburg's best Restaurants such as Dino's Italian and Alexanders Greek Cuisine but is just far up the street enough that it's quiet even during the day. ||I had an excellent time, thank you John.

A lovely two night stay in this historic guest house, fully decorated with authentic antique furnishings, gave us the feel of being transported back in time. Our cozy room had a very comfortable bed and private bath. Careful attention was given in providing a variety of toiletries to include bath salts and bubble bath for a soothing, relaxing soak in the claw footed tub, along with thick terry bathrobes to put on afterwards. In the mornings the smell of freshly brewed coffee lured us downstairs to the dining room where John, owner and host, greeted us with his beautifully presented and amazingly delicious 3 course breakfasts. This B&B was a captivatingly charming experience we thoroughly enjoyed and would do again.

We stayed here with friends a week ago, and are so glad we found it. I was wonderful! The house is a walk back in time, with amazing decor, fun antiques and historical items. John was so fun to get to know, and was a very gracious host. He went above and beyond with any request we had, and was so fun to visit with! And the food - it was amazing!! Delicious breakfasts, served elegantly and comfortably. I would recommend this place!

We were able to get Marietta's room by luck on July 4th, as we were traveling down I-5 from the Olympic Peninsula. John, our host, very graciously set us up in the backyard at the picnic table for an open air picnic dinner and joined us for a glass of wine. We shared many tales, until the fireworks across the street drew our attention. Nothing like small town, neighborhood fireworks that you can watch from the driveway! At first I thought I would want a shower after backpacking for 3 days, but I tell you, that hot bath was just the thing for aching muscles! What a great night sleep - and very quiet and so peaceful. The next morning we strolled around downtown Roseburg before our gourmet breakfast with endless coffee. Staying at Hokanson's is truly a unique experience, and its so great to support small business owners who really go out of their way to attend to your every need. If you love history and family stories, you will get plenty here! FYI - bring your own hair conditioner, hair dryer.
