A major 9/10 ONLY because they don’t go down the river with you!
They thought us far more competent, which is ok, but if you have never and get scared easy, know now.
That said, the most peaceful, fun gorgeous river to kayak down. It was not packed, had 2 sandbars to take a break and stretch on.
We were fully informed of what/how long/how to adjust from Mike. He drove the van and gave us all the details, before taking a photo and pushing us out the best.
The staff all around was friendly, helpful and informative. Don’t feel bad asking any any questions, they got you.

Extremely friendly staff, good shop with things like waterproof floating phone cases. A bit pricy for a kayak at $50 each but the 5 mile journey was VERY fun. Four of us ventured out, the driver that took us up was extremely friendly and shared lots of great information with us.

We knew it was very much a dry season and might have to get out a few times, but honestly getting a bit stuck on rocks and working around them was quite fun and not too often. Great views, relaxing, and we saw an eagle at one point!

Our family recently had an unforgettable canoeing adventure, and we couldn't be happier with the entire experience! Even though the river was low this month, it was still passable and the second half of our trip was in deep water - almost like a lake. The Livery was well staffed and they were friendly; we came with a large group and they had very ample supplies. Clean? Yes; they even scrub each life vest every time it is used! I hope we can come back another time when the river is a little more lively!
But I didn't even know it was a hotel. So I can't speak about that part.

20/10 recommend. Second year annual camping trip. Facilities are nice, staff is nicer! Canoeing and kayaking on site and such an ease - they load you and unload you onto the river all you have to do is paddle til your hearts content. Such a great getaway for a refresh.

Excellent outfitter for canoeing. When we pulled in there was someone giving directions for where to park and where to check in. The check in process was run very smoothly and they answered all our questions and told us what to expect. We were loaded onto our bus within 15 minutes or so and took a 10 minute ride to the drop off. The driver, the owner, was great to talk to on the way and super friendly. The Hocking River is very pretty. We took the 5 mile trip and took our time. At the take out, there are plenty of folks to help get you and your canoe out of the water. It was a great time.

Whole experience was great and very relaxing. Second time there within a month. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Our driver & canoe helper (Mike) was very pleasant and informative. DOUBLE THUMBS UP!!!

Our family recently had a wonderful day on the river. The staff in the office was very friendly and helpful, they even had a couple items for sale that we forgot to bring. Our shuttle bus driver Cathy was informative as to what to expect on our adventure. Cathy was funny and she did a great job getting us all excited before we got to the landing. We will be back for sure.
