Beautiful pastoral setting with lovingly restored and appointed properties. Yes, my cousins own and run it, but I’m not just saying this because of that! Truly lovely and extraordinarily well maintained property with several houses to suit various needs. Rent the whole place for a family reunion to remember!

This is a wonderful place to getaway. A restored 130 year old cabin, with the best of old and new. Deer, turkey and squirrels play right outside every morning. Fairly close to Amish stores and restaurants. The cabin has a very nice bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. Lots of acreage to explore in quiet walks. We had a very relaxing time doing a puzzle and enjoying a fire in the restored cooking fireplace.

It is a privilege to stay in this historic, restored cabin/home. The restoration and decorating are tastefully done and inviting. Three separate sleeping areas are helpful but the space is still nice for a single couple on a getaway. A wood burning fireplace is a big plus and firewood is supplied making this a four season destination. It is a great place to escape back in time and get off the grid for a while.

We’ve had the privilege of staying at some beautiful places but this takes top honors. The attention to details, the beauty of the cabin, the location and quietness will be hard to top. We loved our time there but the only downside was we didn’t have time to stay longer.

This October was the second time in five years that my friend, Johnda, and I spent a weekend at this fabulous house. Though we live a few hours apart now, we met halfway and drove to this little piece of heaven and had a great weekend cooking, sightseeing and just chilling out. Love this house, love the peace and quiet that comes with it. Can’t wait to see what they do with the rest of the property!

My wife and I stayed in the house last fall/ winter and it's a step back in time. I'm familiar with the house history due to the property behind it, which was owned by my XXX- company. Over 25 year period I watched a delapitated home completely caved into basement turn into a gorgeous homestead for in-laws. Then they purchased, disassembled and transported a 150++ year old house back to original condition and it's the boom. I truly hope they open the back property up for same purpose of relaxation and beautiful senery. If they offered access to all 3 possible homes, I will book no less than 5 times a year, especially fall colors, which were poor this year. Highly recommended!

Spending a weekend in this historic cabin is like stepping back through time. Standing within the roughhewn log walls, beside the massive stone hearth, you can feel yourself slipping back to a simpler past when families would sit beside the warming fire at night enjoying a few short hours together at the end of the day. The beams still carry the marks of those who cut and shaped them from the surrounding forest. Running your hands along their rough surfaces, you can almost hear the echoes of the labors some 200 years ago.
Nestled far away from any nearby cities, you can stare up at the star-filled skies the air filled with the sounds of the night. On my first night, I took a night hike under a cloudless sky, a crescent moon hanging low just over the treetops. It was walk not once interrupted by the sound of a car, truck, or a neighbor’s TV.
Of course, today’s update of the cabin comes with a beautiful modern kitchen, bathroom and Wi-Fi. Our host left the kitchen stocked with fresh fruit, muffins, fresh farm eggs and a wide assortment of snacks. If you do want some modern commerce during your stay, New Philadelphia is just a short 15-minute drive.
For those looking for a getaway with an emphasis on ‘away’ this timeless treasure is for you!
