Great location if you like downtown night life. Upper levels accessible by elevator. Accessible bathroom just across the room, but the bathroom door seems a bit dislodged from hinge so not able to close completely and lock. First time staying at a hostel. Good experience overall. Hope next time I visit, the bathroom door could be fixed. Then it's gonna be perfect

My boyfriend and I had a great experience here. The vibe is very friendly and all guests are respectful with the common areas. Price is very affordable and totally worth it, specially for having some breakfast included. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. I would definitely come back in my next visit to San Diego.

The only accommodation with at least somehow reasonable price at that time. I lime hostels, and I also liked the many different areas in the house to chill, sit, chat, and play. The public bathrooms were all very clean and towels provided. The location is great if you like partying as you are right in the center where many bars are located.
I booked a private with bathroom and was very disappointed. The room was tiny, super hot with a not really well working AC. The window was to a tiny, dark backyard and not able to open. The bathroom was fine and shower clean but found some quiet dark hair in the bed, which is pretty disgusting.
Overall, it was a nice hostel but didn't account for the price I paid.

I stayed in a private room for 3 nights instead of booking a hotel, and I strongly recommend you do not stay here. Our bed was broken (completely sagging in middle) and they were unable to fix the situation. Accommodations elsewhere were booked for the weekend so we ended up staying all weekend and getting very poor sleep. Our backs hurt every day from trying to sleep on an angle. From what the staff said, it seems like they management not in a hurry to replace broken beds, so I wouldn't risk staying here.

They got the best of all.
Staff - very friendly, informative and helpful.
Location - most lively location in San Diego to enjoy night life.
Rates - very in expensive.
Rooms - they are clean and have all the basic things one would need.
I even received my lost jacket which they preserved with them for 10 days. Very grateful to their staff to delivering it back to me.

I stayed in an All-Gender 6-Bed Dorm. The room was pretty spacious, and there was plenty of space to store my personal belongings. I really appreciate that there was a table and some chairs in the room, which I found to be useful. You get allocated a tall locker, which offers plenty of space for you to securely store your belongings. However, there are a few things I don't like about the room. First, there is no power outlet and lamp that you can use on the bunk bed. This is actually the first hostel I've stayed at that does not have a power outlet near the bunk bed. Also, I slept on the top bunk bed, and there was a big gap between the bed and the wall. I accidentally dropped my wallet from the top bunk bed to under the bed through the gap, and I'm so grateful to have a kind roommate who helped me retrieve the wallet 🙁 Another thing I don't like about the room is that the ceiling is quite high and there is no cover above the top bunk bed, so if someone turns on the lights at night and you're sleeping on the top bunk bed, you're basically guaranteed to have lights wake you up. There are three individual bathrooms on the floor, shared among ~20 rooms of guests. While the bathrooms are spacious and clean, I was worried that there would be many people using the bathrooms at the same time. Luckily, it didn't happen while I was staying there. The hostel offers free breakfast, but I didn't get to have it due to time constraint, so I can't comment on the quality of the breakfast.
I appreciate that the hostel is in a downtown location, around 7~8 min walk to the closest bus stops. It is also quite close to a bunch of hotels, which are WAY more expensive. If you enjoy nightlife and eateries, there are tons of bars and restaurants just down the street and around the block. The museums are also very close to the hostel, within comfortable walking distance. Finally, the staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hostel to anyone who is visiting San Diego and wants to enjoy downtown San Diego without breaking their bank accounts.

Extremely noisy. You need ear plugs and more to be able to fall asleep. You can not get any sleep due to downstairs bars and loud constant police traffic. Unsafe with lots of homeless in street. The place was clean though. It is at the center of downtown.
