We had Steak Fajitas and the Texas Fajitas. The steak in both was excellent! Texas was a generous portion plus chicken and shrimp. Corn tortillas were good, flour tortillas could have been better, same goes for the Rice and beans. Service is really good. They made the margaritas to order which we appreciated. Decent selection of tequila and beer. Great sound track.

Charming Cantina with Delicious Food!

This cozy cantina has a really nice atmosphere and friendly service. We were greeted with complimentary chips and salsa, and our food arrived quickly.

We were also surprised with a delicious soup (not sure what it was, but it was fantastic!).

I had the beef/pork quesadilla, and it was absolutely amazing.

Overall, a great spot for lunch!

I don’t know who this “Haydee” is, but they never miss. We went to the HWY 53 location for their brunch on a Sunday at around noon. Even with it being a full house, we were seated almost immediately. We chose to try their brunch buffet (I think it is a new deal they are trying). Again, HAYDEE DOES NOT MISS. The food was amazing with genuine home cooked flavor. They also do a limited cooked to order menu with the brunch (eggs, pancakes, tacos al pastor, etc.). The vibe was great with everyone having a good time with good music playing. Abby A and the service staff did a wonderful job which really rounded out the whole experience.

Have you been to Haydees Cafe & Cantina in Gainesville?! If you love Mexican food and you haven’t, what are you waiting for? This spot has a spacious dining area and a fun menu. No matter what you order, it’s going to be tasty.

What do I enjoy ordering? I like starting with their TACO PAPAS—think nachos but with fries. I get mine topped with chicken, and it’s a game-changer. Do you like tamales? Their tamale plate is delicious and filling. And if you’re like me and love trying everyone’s quesadillas, you won’t be disappointed here either. Want to keep it simple? Their tacos are GREAT.

The food here is money! Eaten breakfast several times and dinner a couple times. The food is always great. Not your typical Mexican food, it tastes authentic, fresh and home made. The mole is fantastic. The salsas are great. The service is good. But I come for the food.

Haydee’s Cafe is a hidden gem for Sunday breakfast after church! My wife and I stopped by and were blown away by the Sun Buffet. It had a fantastic variety of options, and everything tasted amazing. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was top-notch. The staff were so hospitable and happily answered our questions, helping us understand some of the menu items. My wife loved it just as much as I did! We’ll definitely be coming back—this spot is a must-visit!

Just got take out from this place and was extremely disappointed. There were no veggies with either of the two fajita plates we ordered and both of the large cheese dips we ordered were less than half full (see pics). It would have been more understandable if they had been really busy, but they weren’t so I’m not sure what happened. I did call and let them know and they were nice about it and the guy checked with the cook, called back and left a voicemail saying that they were out of the smaller containers the dip was supposed to come in and that only two veggies were supposed to come with the fajita plates, but we didn’t get any veggies at all.

This was my first visit to Haydee's. I was treated to dinner by some friends who live in the area and are regular customers.

Everything was simply superb. The people are super-friendly. I had a chicken burrito. I'm a big eater and I was unable to eat all of it. The chips and queso were superb, also. And don't forget the margarita. I had to drive 60 miles home, so I drank only one.

What an incredible place. I can't wait to go back!
