honestly the best sushi in ct. this place has ruined all other sushi for me. ill be eating something and think "this is good, but its not hana." i order on average 1-2 times a month. the staff is great and the food is incredible. the rice is out of this world, the texture is great and its so delicately, perfectly seasoned. the fish is the main attraction which is what matters. i tell everyone to go here because they havent tried sushi until theyve tried hana sushi.

on a personal note, im recovering from horrible food poisoning at the time of writing. all i could think of stomaching was mackerel and hana rice. i asked for a custom mackerel roll (as pictured, in the right side of the container) and its incredible. maybe its the cracker diet talking but its the best thing ive ever eaten. yellow tail, scallions, and avocado inside, topped with thick mackerel and avocado. its like my mind was read, this restaurant has the best understanding of flavor out of pretty much any other ive eaten at, regardless of cuisine. chicken soup was enough to make me ill during my recovery, but this meal is making me feel normal again, and my stomach feels great. i seriously cannot recommend this place enough.

I didn't want to leave a review because this place is soo good! Excellent sushi and the prices can't be beat. The service was impeccable and our sushi/rolls were fresh and beautifully crafted. They have an extensive menu of special rolls. Definitely worth the trip.

I am very pleased with my experience at Hana Sushi. All the food that I got was excellent. The service was great, and our waiter was very accommodating and helpful. The waiter was very kind and was doing her best to help my sister who was taking care of her 12 month old daughter, it warmed my heart to see how kind and helpful the waiter was.

Furthermore, the sushi rolls were excellent. There are so many unique options of rolls, and they all look good. They even have seasonal rolls for Christmas. My family ordered maybe 6 or 7 different types of rolls and they all looked and tasted great. Next time I go, I will be taking photos so I can post them here.

All in all, Hana Sushi is a really great place to stop if you are in the mood for a unique and flavorful sushi roll.

What a show and a dinner? Yeah I win. Its like walking into Cheers the TV show. The sushi Chef made an evergreen with some sauce on top that was so good, also had a tuna Pizza. what is this contraption you ask? Its delicious is what it is. Its like going to have your car serviced and they pay you (kinda good) So good I had to ask her if she had any sisters.
Her son was there figured she was married.
It's a family run outfit you can tell by the way they talk to each other. We all have that special love talk at home. (what are you thinking? oh your not). Well it goes on in my house anyway. really the food is great. The place needs to be cleaned up a little.But highly recommend this place

The hot dishes were delicious. We had the tatsuta age (breaded and deep fried with katsu sauce) & katsudon (breaded and fried katsu pork with egg onions and veggies over rice). The miso soup and ginger salad was good. I had to give it 3 stars because the sushi was not fresh and I've had better. Our server was very attentive and special. We liked Mathew a lot. The sushi chef unfortunately had a foul mouth. It was our first time here. It's a restaurant, not a pub. Unfortunately, we do not plan on coming back.

First time coming to Hana Sushi this evening. There’s a shared parking lot for this little place. Inside is nice. It feels larger than it is because of the mirrors on one of the walls, which really helps open up the place. We were greeted right away by friendly waitstaff. Although the place is small, it doesn’t feel crowded. We tried three special rolls:

New Windsor Roll: Salmon and blackened tuna on the inside. Avocado on the outside. This one is amazing. It’s so fresh and beautiful

Yankee Roll: Spicy crab inside, spicy salmon, tuna, yellowtail. Really good flavor combo.

Dynamite Roll: Salmon, white fish, crab, asparagus and scallion, slight battered *This one is good but it’s more crunchy than I anticipated. The size is nearly too big to fit the whole thing in your mouth and can get messy with the sauce if you’re not careful.

All in all, super friendly staff, good prices, and delicious rolls. 👌🏻

The decor of the restaurant is quite pleasant, with a typical 80’s Japanese restaurant vibe. Yelling noisy staff screaming at each other across the room in front of customers in Cantonese. Gruff and abrupt without a smile. Yes, Chinese-run, not that it’s usually a problem in of itself, but from experience Japanese are better at preparing their native cuisine and that rings true here too. The chicken just taste like it was seasoned with soy sauce. No sweetness which a good teriyaki sauce includes. It is very affordable though - this came to little over 10 dollars.
