Hotel was nice, check-in was quick & easy. Attitudes of employees could have been more pleasant, at least a smile. But then breakfast happened…or didn’t happen-we went to get something from the hot serving dishes & there was only a few pieces of the maple sausage, no potatoes or anything else. There were issues with the waffle batter dispenser, there were a few yogurts & some bread items (bagels, bread, muffins) a few oranges and that was about it. Not nearly enough to feed the guests filing in to eat. We sat there, waiting for re-fills on the hot items that never happened for 25 mins. Several knocks on the Employee only door to inquire and be told she was working on it, and all that was brought out was some waffle batter. No food of any type was replenished, no tables were cleaned off. We finally left and there were approximately 15 people walking around looking. We stay pretty much exclusively at Hampton Inn, and over the past few years have noticed a decline in services & cleanliness at them. Husband just went to get a shower & said ‘this shower wasn’t cleaned…’ Come on Hilton, get it together.

This was not a great Hampton Inn experience for us. The front desk clerk was ON HIS PHONE during my check-in. He just mumbled that my incidentals deposit would be returned 5-7 days later (). I asked not to be placed near rooms with dogs and his reply as he handed me my key was, “We are a pet friendly hotel.” Then he talked into his phone and went on to the next customer. One elevator was out of order, the other very slow making for long waits. (Other reviews report this has been out for awhile). So, we took the stairs, but trash bags from the kitchen were stored in the stairwell, so it smelled. The stairs were also quite dirty and sandy. At breakfast, I had to ask for the waffle batter, yogurt and fruit to be refilled. I was handed an individual yogurt. The morning front desk staff was helpful and friendly. The pool was quite nice and warm. The whirlpool was out of order though, which was disappointing as it was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The room itself was fine, everything worked and seemed mostly clean. This is an older hotel, but that doesn’t account for the poor experience we had.

We were traveling up north from Florida and were so excited about our “ pet friendly “ stay here. When we arrived I was informed i had to pay a 75$ pet fee. When I asked where this was advertised online? I was told read the fine print that said “ Fees may apply”… I think if you are going to advertise as a pet friendly establishment, listing the prices and fees for pets should be clear and obvious. Unless ripping your customers off was the goal, in which case well done! Will never be staying in a Hampton Inn and suites ever again.

PS. Forgot to mention about the one working elevator for an entire hotel. An elevator that makes banging noises that kept us up all night.

Stay was 12/20/2024-12/21/2024
When I arrived to checked in, I was charged a $30 incidentals fee, that was not disclosed when I made the reservation. The gentleman behind the desk showed me the sign. I was told it would go back to my card within 3-5 business days. I was not happy about that. One of the elevators was not working. It took a long time to get to my floor. I used the stairs mostly, so I would not have to wait. The room was nice and comfortable. The exercise room was smaller than expected. The pool was nice and the hot tub was relaxing.

This motel is dirty. The employees were taking personal calls on phones in front of guests. It had cold lobby coffee, and we were told to make our own in the room. The elevators were not working. After calling ahead to confirm the hot tub was working which we based our reservation, it was not working. The person at front desk was rude. Avoid this motel. While in conversation with the front desk, several other guests were complaining about the smell. ||After calling guest services and informing them, they offered a minimum amount of points on their program to make up for the experience. (1/3 equivalent points of a stay).

We had problems with the HVAC not working properly in our room. One of the elevators had an issue with the door not always opening on its own when at the ground level. Extremely RUDE woman at front desk, but she gave the impression she may be employed in housekeeping and was only hanging around. We have stayed here in the past without any issues, but her obnoxious behavior is the main reason we would never stay here again. Pooler area hotels are pricier, but better.

Decent place, but there's definitely some updating, deep cleaning, and maintenance to be done. The shower head was leaking out of the top and needed to be decalcified. Also, I had housekeeping, just barge in instead of knocking FIRST! I have 4 stars bc the bed was comfortable, and the front desk staff was polite.

Read the previous reviews, which were correct: The person at the front desk was not helpful, he was ON HIS PHONE the entire time I was checking in. He gave me no information except that my incidentals deposit wouldn’t be refunded for 5-7 days. When I asked not to be placed next to rooms with dogs, he just handed me a key and said, “We’re a pet friendly hotel.” There was only one working elevator that made for long waits. We used the stairwells instead, but they smelled of garbage since full trash bags were stored in the stairwell. The whirlpool was also out of order, which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The pool was nice and heated, though. The breakfast foods ran out and I had to ask for waffle batter, fruit and yogurt to be replaced. The morning front desk clerk was friendly and helpful, but this older hotel isn’t the best…
