I can understand why everyone is giving bad reviews and I wish I would've listened. I stayed at this property back in January 2013 when it was brand new. I came back here because of a positive experience. Fast forward to 2025, a total 360°. Upon entering, the young man at the front didn't even greet me and just gave a dead stare. It seemed like he was too preoccupied. I was given room 219 and noticed that after the a/c turns off, it started smelling moldy. Bathroom also smelled moldy and bathtub is peeling with mold. I go downstairs to change rooms and a desk clerk by the name of Adrian was extremely rude and not only was he inconvenienced but rudely stated, "why did you wait until now? and we don't change rooms after an hour and i explained to him that it smelled moldy after the a/c was on and I told him I'm a repeat guest but he didn't care. He also didn't call and ask how everything was. He is in the wrong business. . The new room 421 i was given had dirt by the toilet, hair in the sink and a blood stain on the mattress. The other reviews state this hampton inn has gone down hill and they sure were right. I also called from my room phone to ask what channel is ABC and he said he doesn't know and he's too busy. The last time I had a rude hampton inn was in 2011 in Romulas Michigan. I stay at Hampton inn because of their excellent customer service and clean rooms. This location is anything but. I will be sure calling Hilton Customer Care. The next morning, I wait in the lobby to speak to the manager by the name of Jay. He was absolutely unprofessional and gas lighted me so bad and told me "Business comes first' and "we don't change rooms after an hour " he said he didn't care what other Hampton Inns do. He quoted to me i am repeating my self 5 times? I didn't realize I was at Motel 6. He also said that's not a blood stain, it's juice. I told him i am going to call Hilton Customer Care and he said is going to report me as well? OMG. He said he will give a refund and he followed me to my car and said I am escorting you off the property because I'm no longer a guest and that i am trespassing and I told him I was advised to wait for you. He also claimed that I offended him I did report this to Hilton Guest Assistance and they were speechless. The whole purpose of the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee is to stand by the product and apparently, he didn't like that he had to loose money and based on the facts from a moldy room and a dirty room with hair & blood stain and rude staff. I do want to say kudos to Mike! He needs to be promoted to manager and get rid of Adrian & Jay! Shame on you Bakersfield Hampton inn Airport

Our RV is having emergency repairs and Michael at the front desk was very helpful.
He upgraded us because it was 10AM and our room wasn’t ready yet. I’m happy to be a Diamond member and happy to praise excellent service when I see it. Thanks Mike!

This is the dirtiest nastiest hotel I have stayed in. Been a Hilton member for over 10 years, have never complained or switched rooms, had to change twice due to lack of house keeping. 3rd room smelled so bad I slept in my jeans and sweatshirt. Floor has not seen a vacuum since Carter was in office.

As a gold Hilton honors member, I did not receive any welcome drinks/snacks. Maybe the receptionist was having a bad day as it wasn’t busy at all during check in. Location itself was quiet due to being secluded away from the city. However, it was quite noisy during my stay unfortunately (not including the airport).

We’ve been mostly using this chain on our road trip. This was not the greatest of our experiences. Coffee didn’t taste right, our room was only partially cleaned, curtains still let light in, and the bathroom door creaked so loud we thought we’d wake people in the next hotel. Also…the pool is not heated, so don’t plan to use it in the cooler months. Don’t stay here if you’re looking for a hot tub. Staff were friendly and it felt like we were in a safe location. Breakfast was decent.

Been to quite a bit hotels, but love this one because of how quiet it is here. Very nice place to be if you want to be left alone. Breakfast is one of the bigger (if not the biggest) ones I've seen, with different flavored waffle batter, kielbasa sausages, bagels, breads, muffins, and more. Just imagine all the different typical hotel breakfasts and combine them all; that's this one. Great place to stay overall.

A dog friendly hotel. That was the deciding factor. The shower room is nice but the shampoo bottles are 30% shampoo and 70% plastic. We must have a severe shortage of shampoo in the USA and an over supply of plastic. The breakfast is typical low cost USA hotel. The heater always stopped working in the middle of the night leaving us freezing and the toilet always was running water needing a lot of juggling to get it to stop.

Reserved 3 Pilots here. Rooms are tired and dirty. One was given a room that had someone's old clothing still in it. He changed rooms and got a room with stains all over the furniture. We will look for a different property next time. We will not return.
