Excellent Stay with Outstanding Service!

I recently stayed at this hotel and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The location is perfect, with plenty of great restaurants and bars within walking distance, (Duckfat) making it easy to explore the area and enjoy the local vibe.

The service here is truly exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my requests, and I was pleasantly surprised when they upgraded my room. They even prepared a handwritten card, along with some snacks and water, which made me feel incredibly welcomed and valued.

The room itself was modern, spacious, and bright, offering a very comfortable stay. The pool area was clean and well-maintained, perfect for relaxing. Additionally, the breakfast was delicious and served in a hygienic environment, which I greatly appreciated.

A big thank you to the entire hotel team for their hard work and attention to detail. Your efforts made my stay memorable, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. I look forward to staying here again in the future!

Pros: Easy access. Easy to find. Streets easy to navigate. Small downtown area. Hotel was clean.

Cons: No app-based checkout so had to check out in person at front desk.

If you want to park at the hotel, you HAVE to valet park your car. There is no clear communication about this in advance nor is it obvious in terms of signage when you arrive. This also means you need to tip the valet person so have cash on hand for this each time you leave or request your car. The evening valet guy was not friendly and actually pretty rude for no reason. The next morning checkout valet guy was nice. Same with the front desk guy. Not super helpful or friendly. Next morning at checkout the woman at the front desk was nice enough.

Room was clean.

TV and channel options were from the 1990s.

Tub was on the small side.

Towels were tiny. For 2 adults they should provide more than 3 small towels.

There was a vehicle on the street with its alarm going off. I mentioned it to the front desk guy who told me there was nothing he could do about it and I'd have to call police to report it if a problem. One would think a good hotel manager would proactively report it on behalf of ALL hotel guests.

We like this Hampton Inn and will stay here again due to its great location just a short walk to Commercial Street and The Old Port. Our room was nice, clean, and well equipped (but see below regarding temperature control). The desk staff was nice. They offer a fairly typical Hampton Inn breakfast, but it was better than average this year. Plenty of coffee and several food choices plus the staff was making a real effort to keep the breakfast area clean and well stocked. Parking is pretty expensive at this hotel. Nearly as much as we pay when we visit Boston. We'd give the hotel a five, except for the heating system. It was a bit cold in our room and the heating system would not respond to thermostat input. The fan was loud and just kept blowing cool air. We asked at the desk to have it fixed, but it did not get fixed while we were there. We reminded them again when we checked out, so hopefully the next guest will have better temperature control.

This Hampton is consistently reliable , clean, & a terrific location to walk to the downtown area. Some of the staff need work on greeting customers. |It would be nice to see an option for housekeeping to skip your room & a way to communicate that you do not want towels replaced ( as there is in other chains ) . Nothing against this particular Hampton as they all have the same breakfast but it needs revising ( eg add whole grain cereals not just the highly processed sugary ones ) .

Nice hotel rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast was pretty good as well with all the basics for an included hotel breakfast. Also the location is great for a visit to the old port.

Overall, it was a nice hotel to stay in for one night. It was conveniently located with an easy walk to restaurants, bars, and shops. The staff was friendly and it’s connected to an amazing breakfast spot, The Friendly Toast. The room was clean upon arrival, though there was a bit of a lazy maintenance maneuver that was somewhat comical, but also super unprofessional for a room that goes for $100+ a night. The dresser drawer wouldn’t stay closed, so they put duct tape to try and keep it shut. When the first blob of duct tape didn’t work, they put another one on top of the original piece, which, well, didn’t seem to work either. Another issue was a malfunctioning room key. We had gotten back to the hotel at about 1AM, went to our room, and our key wouldn’t open the door. I understand it was a system glitch, just have never experienced that at a hotel before. It was just a little inconvenient at the time, but the front desk guy was very kind. I would stay at this hotel again for the right price. (And minus the duct tape art 😜)

Look, most everything was great but there were these small issues that could be so easily corrected that wouldn’t make me so irritated about my stay. Island Hospitality Management manages this property, I beg them please: send 2 new waffle irons, send more bottles of shower gel, and have the maintenance do a sweep and proactively snake every sink and tub once in a while. ||Tub and sink drain were slow. Asked to have them snaked, they fixed the sink but not the tub. Asked again then they fixed the tub. ||Shampoo/conditioner wall bottles were fine but shower gel was empty. Asked for more and got bar soap. Tracked down cleaning staff, she had shampoo/conditioner replacement bottles but was apparently out of shower gel. ||Desperately needs 2 new waffle makers. Only has one and it’s so old the standard waffle spray doesn’t work. Insisted they bring out the PAM from the kitchen so I could finally make my kid a waffle. And this ain’t being petty, the waffle line was 10 people long and the front of it they were picking at the stuck pieces of their waffle trying to clean the machine (themselves, the GUEST) for several minutes.

This place gets a 3 because of the friendly, helpful staff. It's a great location with lots to do nearby, but it's not up to Hampton Inn standards. I've stayed at a lot of Hampton Inns across the , they usually have super comfortable beds. This one was so so. The room decor was nice.||Breakfast is 6 to 10. I was there before 8 and they ran out of one of the main breakfast items and was told there would not be more. Bagels, but no cream cheese. Waffles are usually good, but there were only flavored options that were rubbery.
