Rooms were clean but definitely dated. Not a big deal. The office staff was very nice. They serve a small breakfast which was nice.
We arrived in Kent around 4:30 am so checked in to sleep (came in from AZ), plus stayed an extra night to enjoy the snow and great little town.

The cleanliness of the room was TERRIBLE!!! We arrived late our first night and noticed the floors had not been swept. Noted this to the front desk clerk and she said she would report it to the GM Abdul. We were gone most of the next day visiting family in the area and got back very late. Upon entry we noticed that, other than clean towels and wash cloths, nothing had been done and I mean literally nothing! The next morning I spoke to the GM personally and he promised profusely that he would make sure the room was cleaned. We returned that night and again nothing had been done except changing out the bathroom linens. If you are staying in the area I would advise avoiding the Hampton Inn.

For such a nice hotel (amenities, updated decor, great furniture, etc) I was so disgusted at how filthy it was, I could not wait to leave. Pubic hairs & dead flies on the bathroom floor, drink & food stains on the dresser & night stand, a months layer of dust on the room phone, urine splatter on the bathtub, spill stains all over the elevator walls & doors, food grime caked on the top of the kitchen garbage can, kitchen & dining floors that had not been swept, vacuumed not mopped, no one cleaning up the kitchen area in between guests. 🀒

I have stayed in a minimum of 500 hotels in at least 30 states during my 34 years of work travel and personal travel. At least 60% of the hotels were Hampton Inns. By far this was the absolute worst hotel I have stayed. There was no shampoo or soap in the shower pump containers; thus, I contacted the front desk and the employee refused to bring these items. They stated that I would have to wait until the morning until the "hospitality" staff would arrive in the morning at 9 AM. This is the first time that I was refused assistance by the "hospitality" staff.

My advice would be to ABSOLUTELY AVOID this hotel. I know that I will NEVER EVER stay here again. There are many more options in this area for me to stay over the 5 years when I will have both my son and daughter attending college at Kent State.

It started off with trying to check-in which was almost impossible. Should have known at that moment not to stay. There were no employees to be found. It took about 20 minutes for someone to show up. No greeting just β€œYes” looking at us like why are you here. The rooms were not throughly clean, the night employee kicked everyone out of the lobby to go to sleep on the furniture with her heater and everything. Trash was piled up and if you can find anyone to ask for something it’s like you’re bothering them. AGAIN, DO NOT STAY HERE. AWFUL!!!

Paper thin walls with noise from interstate and the rooms around min lead to a lowest night sleep. Staff was nice. Elevator had mud on the carpet from those staying here in work trucks. Room was a little worn and tv did not work.||Overall I would never stay here again

Unless your just looking for a cheaper Hampton Inn, do not stay here. Starting from the outside: the landscaping is not maintained and trash was overflowing. Trying to check in was almost comical. The lobby smelled like Marijuana and there was noone behind the desk. A phone was set out stating to call 0 for assistance. So I did and a gentleman appeared. I am a diamond medallion member so typically get a bottle of water and a snack. Do not expect this at this location as it likely won't happen. The rooms were not cleaned well and there was a lot of hair all over the bathroom. Comforter had a stain and fridge was left open not holding temperature. Breakfast is slow and not a large variety or great quality. Coffee pot remained empty for an hour before being refilled causing several patrons to complain. No water at breakfast something else was hooked up to the water and poured out pink. No water in the gym or sanitizing wipes, not very clean. Anytime you need to ask for anything it feels like you are a burden to this staff. The gym was nice but would not stay here ever again.
