We so enjoyed our stay at the Hamilton-Turner Inn. The location is perfect and within walking distance of pretty much everything. Tim, Kat, and the rest of the staff were amazingly attentive throughout our stay. They offered recommendations, helped us store our luggage and get our fireplace going, and were so friendly. Breakfast each morning exceeded our expectations (the chefs were phenomenal), and evening cookies were such a nice way to unwind at the end of the day and serve as an opportunity to meet the other guests. The James Oglethorpe room was gorgeous and well maintained, and we both commented on what a nice, homey space it was to come home to at the end of the day with the quiet square just across the way. We felt so spoiled, and will definitely be back on future trips!

Perfect! I was looking for a place to stay for my husband and I on a recent trip to Savannah. After I looked at a number of places, I settled on the Hamilton-Turner Inn. We were thrilled with our choice. The home is beautiful, the service excellent, the rooms comfortable, and the location perfect. They serve a lovely breakfast in the morning, appetizers and wine at 5pm, and cookies and port in the evening. The Inn is located in the heart of the historic district and very close to everything. The staff is very friendly and super helpful. We spoke to a few guests that only stay at this Inn when in Savannah. We would highly recommend!

This was a splurge for us and we couldn't be happier. We heard a few friends stayed here a while back and made a point to spring for it. Excellent location on a city square, the interior was beautiful. The rooms were very nice and clean. Flowers too! We loved the parlor setup and free coffee. The breakfast was great. Service was prompt and friendly. My wife was being funny about her tea, and the waitress remembered it the following day. Very good service all around. We would stay again if back in the area.

The Inn is lovely. We enjoyed the location and the stunning interior and exterior of the building. Our room was small but I did not mind. We were on the third floor and liked the exercise but you should know that's a lot of steps with luggage. The Christmas tree was stunning. Best part was the wonderful breakfast and great service. Every morning was something different.

The James Oglethorpe room was large and comfortable with a large bath and gas fireplace. High ceilings, floor to ceiling windows with privacy shutters and nicely appointed. The door to the room was amazing. The inn is supposed to be one of Savannah’s “haunted” buildings but either because I don’t believe in spirits or ghosts, or they just took the night off, none were present.

Had wanted to stay here for years, but was disappointed with our visit. The inn is beautiful, and we enjoyed learning about its history. Our room was spacious and we were happy with the fresh roses, chocolates, and cookies. However, this place did not live up to its high ranking on TripAdvisor. When we arrived, we were greeted by a woman and man, but neither seemed eager to check us in. The woman took our name and disappeared. The fellow, who we weren't even sure worked there, was dressed in very casual and somewhat sloppy attire. His demeanor was friendly but very low energy. He mumbled so much that we could barely understand what he was saying. As he showed us around, he mentioned at least five things that were broken or didn't work correctly. He also gave us warnings about how to use certian things so as not to cause problems later. We could only wonder why they hadn't taken the time to fix things. We took advantage of the complimentary hors d'oeuvres in the evening, but the forks provided had run out and we had nothing to eat with. We pointed this out, and the fellow simply said, "Yeah, were out. We think people steal them." We stared at him blankly as if to ask "Okay, what do we eat with then?" and he finally said we might be able to find some forks in a drawer across the dining room. We had to disturb another guest sitting closeby to get into the drawer and look for them ourselves. The appetizers themselves seemed store-bought and lacked flavor and character. The next morning, breakfast was quite ordinary... soggy potatoes, a strange take on croque madame, and we had to wait for them to brew a pot of decaf. No decaf available at the early-morning and afternoon coffee set-up either. The friendly breakfast waitress was very loud and inappropriately opinionated as she talked with guests, making conversation difficult at our table. We have traveled all over the world and are accostomed to high-quality service at inns of this supposed calibler. The price we paid for a room seemed to be only for the historic setting; certainly not for the service and extras. We were not impressed with the Hamilton-Turner Inn and will not return.

My husband I just returned from a four-night stay in the Earl of Chatham, room, 401. First the positives: excellent location, very walkable; beautiful old home; great staff—friendly and helpful; delicious breakfasts; clean. Now the reason for only a 3/average rating: the room. The sitting area is not cohesive in style and gives an impression that is less than you would expect for the price. Felt kind of tired. The bathroom, while spacious, also needs some freshening. We would return, but we would not select this room again.

The staff were very personable and amazing. They made our vacation a wonderful experience! We really liked the extras: hors d'oeuvre + wine hour, cookies with port plus an amazing breakfast in the morning. We also used the bicycles to tour the city. Great location as well!
