Beautiful inn with stunning grounds. Attended a wedding. Did not see the rooms but the wedding was beautiful. Spectacular backdrop for photos. The wedding we attended was outside by the water and the reception was under a tent. Depending on the size of the event they also offer inside events. The service was great. The only negative was the lines when getting a cocktail. If you are looking to host an event in this area this location should definitely be considered.

This was a wonderful experience for my wife and I and our intellectually disabled adult son who came to this lush green corner of Connecticut to visit our friends at Windsong Farm in Pomfret Center - an organic pick-your-own blueberry farm. We had a true 2 bedroom (one king bed / one queen) suite with a bathroom for less than the cost of two standard rooms at the Quality Inn 10 minutes away on I-395. Rose is a charming host who really made us feel that her house was our house - only we've never had a 260 year old mansion with 14 acres of gardens to explore. Though often booked as as wedding venue this place is perfect for "regular travelers" in search of peace, quiet, history, charm, and of course hospitality, hospitality, hospitality. BTW: bring some of those fresh sweet blueberries from Windsong Farm and Rose will turn them into delicious blueberry muffins for breakfast.

Our family stay at the inn when in town and will talk about their stay for weeks.

Rose and Dennis are amazing people with top quality staff.

This is the gem of the Quiet Corner.

I would recommend going to or planning any event there as it is sure to be a magnificent occasion.

My daughter had her wedding here recently. The inn and guest rooms are beautiful and the grounds are gorgeous! Rose, the owner was so friendly and helpful. She answered all of our questions promptly and made sure everything went smoothly during the rehearsal and wedding day. Our guests were so impressed! I highly recommend this venue!

We got married here on June 1, 2024 and it was everything we could have wanted it to be and more! Rose was so helpful throughout the planning process. The grounds are so beautiful on their own that we didn’t need to go overboard with decor and flowers. Everything was perfect and we could not have asked for a better venue! Our guests were in awe. The rooms are stunning and the service was above and beyond! We can’t wait to come back for one of the Inn’s other events!

Wedding photographer's perspective: Gwyn Careg Inn is a great wedding venue! The property is really lovely, taking full advantage of being tucked away up in CT's Quiet Corner. The courtyard ceremony location is one of the most unique I've ever seen; very picturesque.

If a country setting is what you're looking for on your wedding day, you should definitely give Gwyn Careg Inn a look!

My wife and I were married at the Gwyn Careg Inn this past fall. From coordination to day-of, the Boves displayed the utmost patience and professionalism. The venue itself is beautiful, and my wife and I were so taken with the Spanish Garden that we decided to hold our ceremony there outdoors. But as the date drew closer, rain threatened—and in response, Rosemary worked with us to make a plan for the ceremony and reception that we were all comfortable with. She handled all coordination (and re-coordination) with grace and made the process virtually stress-free. Ultimately, our day went perfectly (weather and all!) and we will always treasure our memories. Our guests only had good things to say, and our wedding party thoroughly enjoyed staying at the property and being able to utilize the grounds. Thank you!

I was so lucky to have found this venue for my wedding. The Gwyn offers a setting unrivaled in the state of Connecticut. This venue has extensive property and grounds, as a result you will have the most gorgeous wedding pictures and your guests will have a very unique and enjoyable time. I loved the idea of having my closest loved ones stay with me and my fiancé during our weekend. The owner's of the Gwyn are incredibly welcoming and kind. I found the experience to be wonderful. I would recommend the inn for both a wedding venue or to stay and enjoy CT during a random weekend!
