Comfortable rustic cabins. They don't have much, but don't lack anything. I stayed here on New Year's to escape the warzone-like fireworks/gunshots in Phoenix. Super quiet, they have quiet hours after 10pm and everyone is respectful of it. There was a restaurant across the street that was pretty lively for the new year celebration and you wouldn't even know it. Will always recommend staying here.

We stayed in cabin 5 for a long weekend of hiking and paddle boarding at the lake. They did accommodate us for early check in. The cabin was very rustic and in need of cleaning and updating. The toilet seat was broken, the shower was very small and the shower head was only chest height. There was no sink or counter. We Brushed our teeth in the kitchen sink. There were mouse dropping all over the cabin and in the dishes provided. We bought groceries in town but when we used the mini fridge it froze everything. So convenient to have multiple restaurants within walking distance. The pillows were terrible. There is no ac or heat as the heater plug in was broken. I understand this is under new owner ship, I hope they can make some improvements.

We've stayed at these cabins twice now. The owners are amazing and very accommodating. They honored the promotional offer we got before the change of ownership. Absolutely love the location and cabin #4.

Save yourself the money and book elsewhere. We don't mind rustic but we were completely disappointed in this cabin. We rented cabin #5. Let's start with the bathroom, it's only a shower and a toilet. The shower is so small u can't turn around and the shower head is at chest height and the bottom is stained brown. The toilet seat was broken. There is no bathroom sink. Be prepared to brush ur teeth in the kitchen sink. The pillows were terrible hard as a rock. We got groceries in Payson since the cabin advertised a kitchen. We filed the mini fridge but when I went to make dinner all the food was frozen! Wasted $. Thank God there were restaurants in walking distance. There was mouse droppings all over the cabin and in the dishes. Yuck! The water pressure is nonexistent. I understand that these are new owners but this cabin should not be rented in this condition.

The host of Grey hackle were amazing. We really enjoyed the place. The unit was somewhat cool for most of the day. Just make sure you check the days you go up there because everything shuts down on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which was a little disappointing. I couldn’t say enough about the host went out of her way to get us a coffee maker because we didn’t care for the other one. I was high Recommend staying here as long as it’s not on Tuesday and Wednesday

Stayed in cabin #9, the only one currently with a porch swing. The manager said renovations are in the near future, so maybe all the cabins can have a swing and an oven. Ours did not have an oven, which was kind of a bummer, but we did use the charcoal grill outside and our meals turned out great. The weather was very nice, windy but nice. There are several hiking trails nearby and a few lakes a half hour drive away.

Stayed in the cabin for a weekend liked how nice they were for the price small but all we needed. Only complaint is they have patio lights strung all over the grounds which were way to bright we couldn’t even see the stars so we had to move the chairs behind the cabin away from the lights. They should just add some solar ground lights instead if they want to light up the pathways.

We love going to Grey Hackle to get out of town. Most of the cabins have been updated and they are very cute. The manager Donna is very helpful and nice! Love that there is food and a small store within walking distance.
