The Trustees Suite is great, and all of our emailed requests were done. Closet is a bit weirdāno hanging rod except tiny little one on the side. Not sure what else someone would put in large area of closet except for luggage, but thereās plenty of room elsewhere in room for that. Bathroom is extremely largeālots of wasted space but much better than the standard room bathrooms at the Inn. Wish there were 2 water closets though since there was so much space. One sink backed up and took forever to drain so it may need some maintenance. Also great that thereās a shade for the bedroom but we couldnāt sit on the sofa in living area during the day because there isnāt a shade there and the sun was glaring right in our eyes. Also woke up second night because of a woman speaking very loudly for about 10 minutes. Since there isnāt a room adjoining ours, Iām assuming it came from an employee who was in the storage area on 3? It was quite late so perhaps they should be warned that they can be heard.||||Restaurant wasnāt consistent. First night, we were seated next to a family with two toddlers, who proceeded to smack silverware onto the table and screech. Tried to move but no other tables for 2 available, I was told. It was not a relaxing dinner, especially considering that we spent $145 on dinner and another $40 at the bar later. Perhaps staff needs to say something to parents whose children are misbehaving or have an age limit for diner. I had the scallops and corn risotto. The risotto was woefully undercookedācrunchy! Any good chef knows it needs to be cooked on a low flame with constant stirring. I ate it though because I was so hungry. My husband had the steak frittes and said the steak wasnāt the worst heās had but certainly not the best. Prices arenāt aligning with the quality, sad to say. Noelle, our waitress, was so nice. She even came by twice when we were dining the next night and were served by another waitress and stopped at the front desk when we checking out to give us a hug. So sweet.||||The next night we had the calamari and Brussel sprouts as well as both soups (French Onion tasted watered down) and drinks for dinner. The food was terrificāhence, my statement about the inconsistency of the kitchen.||||Complimentary continental breakfast was dismal. So bad, in fact, we went to the great Mexican restaurant the next morning. Just do away with it if this is the best you can offer. I phoned ahead of time and was told there would be bagels and fixings and hard boiled eggs. Nope, a bunch of stale pastries and some berries. Not even boxes of cereal and milk. At least the coffee was ok which hasnāt been the case in the past. When I couldnāt find the decaf and no one was around to ask, I went to the front desk and Joey rudely told me I had to see the worker assigned. He was sitting there with no one around as it was quite early so I doubt if he was busy. Not exactly customer service unlike Patrick the day before who I asked a bunch of questions. Patrick was pleasant, and, if he didnāt know the answer, he found out. Joey needs some training although he was pleasant on the phone when my husband called down. Perhaps men get better treatment from Joey than women? ||||The bartenders were not pleasant. We didnāt drink at the bar the second night because of this. In the past, the bartenders have been fun and engaging. The larger gentleman only had a scowl on his face and his answer to everything was ānoā until I pressed him further. Part of the allure of drinking at the bar is the interaction with the staff. And good management tip: it makes customers stay longer and buy more and leave bigger tips. I donāt understand why some folks who donāt like working with people go into service jobs.||||Weāve been coming to the Inn for decades, and weāve noticed a pattern. Staff and restaurant/bar would be great with offerings and interactions for a while. Then itās terrible. Then itās great, then itās terrible. Not sure why it is so inconsistent.||||Wine list used to be great; now, not so much. The only good one was the chianti. No Sauvignon Blancs from New Zealand. No additional red Italian offerings. I long for the days when the Inn actually had a wine shop and sommelier.||||I responded to their feedback request and asked a question. No response. Says it all.
