We got to the hotel after 5:00. The owners are super nice and she even showed us where to park our car and where to get something to eat. The Mexican food place was great and was in walking distance. We had our dog and she gave us a couple of sheets to put on the beds which helped allot. The room was the cleanest we have ever been in. I wish we stayed here every time on our travels back and forth from California to Idaho. I would recommend this hotel.

Wow, wow, wow!! I wish I could give the Golden West 10 stars. The big hotel chains could take some lessons from this little hidden gem motel. Our room was immaculately clean, super comfortable beds, great towels & plenty of hot water for showers. We had a small kitchen that provided utensils, plates, glasses, a full sized refrigerator, coffee pot. microwave and cooktop. There was a little table and chairs where we enjoyed our take-out meal. But the true stars of The Golden West are the owners, Luisa and Vince! From my first phone call to our check-out, they provided stellar customer service. They are welcoming, kind and go out of their way to ensure that you have a wonderful stay. My only regret is that we could not stay there longer. Without a doubt, this was one of the best small, locally owned places we have ever encountered. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This 1950's style motel was a true find. We were on a 10 day road trip from Colorado to the Oregon coast and needed to stay in or near Klamath Falls on our itinerary. We usually don't choose motels, but this had so many 5* reviews, we took a chance. We have never stayed in a cleaner room. No breakfast, but there was a little kitchenette with plates, bowls, utensils, coffee pot and coffee, fridge with freezer, and a "Ricky and Lucy" style 1950's combo sink and stove. The beds were comfy, and our room towards the back of the motel was quiet. When I walked into the office to check in, Luisa, the owner, greeted me by my first name. We are trying to think of a good reason to go back to Klamath Falls so we can stay there again. Thanks, Luisa, for giving us a highlight of our trip.

Dog friendly. This is a gem of a little motel, located across from the Home Depot in a quiet area of Klamath Falls, Oregon. I had to travel for work and needed to take my dogs with me. This is a husband and wife owned motel. The owner was very friendly and when I arrived, Addressed me by my name. The rooms have been remodeled and are very clean and have all amenities that you would need. It is a great place to take your dogs with you because they have a grass area that the dogs can run on and also like an open field area that you can take them for a walk on. The parking is gravel that would be the only negative, but I didn’t really see anything negative about the motel being very clean and well-maintained and a personal service by the owners. She provided sheets to cover the beds. I brought their own beds but my younger dog kept wanting to get on the bed. Most of the motels that I have booked when taking Dogs Is it the motels give you the dirtiest crummiest rooms when you have dogs and then they asked for a pet fee. This was not the case at this motel. It was very clean and well maintained and everything in the room was up-to-date. It was a newer heater and newer air conditioning pump tile was good condition. The carpet was in good condition. They had coffee refrigerator, microwave and everything was good and well-maintained. It wasn’t broken down like a lot of the budget motels that you go to.

They charged a small pet fee for two dogs for two nights.

This is a great place to go especially if you are traveling with a dog. 🐕

This motel features owners who treat their guests like royalty. I arrived in Klamath Falls at the Amtrak station and was given a ride to the motel by the owner! My room was very attractive, walls enhanced by a couple of creative jigsaw puzzle art pieces. I had everything a traveler would want: full fridge, microwave, cable TV and internet, dining table and huge shower. The owners work hard to keep their property impeccably clean. I give this lodging the highest rating. It's a superb value.

We have stayed at the Golden West on several different occasions. The proprietors are wonderful and accommodating, and our usual room (#23) has always been clean and comfy, even for our pups! We always seek to support small businesses and we highly recommend the Golden West Motel in Klamath Falls.

The room was clean from ceiling to baseboard.
I have never stayed in any hotel room that immaculate.
Luisa was super friendly and helped us with dinner recommendations.

It was a fraction of the cost we paid at our next stop and much, much cleaner.

My husband & I stayed here on our way to Crater Lake. Our experience was lovely from the moment we checked in. Luisa was very welcoming & offered suggestions for restaurants nearby. Our room was absolutely spotless!!! Even though the motel is older, it was far cleaner than a brand new one. You can tell that the owners take pride in their motel. Definitely recommend!
