The innkeepers are wonderful hosts. The inn is clean, safe, and secure. The chef is excellent! Edward and Cynzia really made us feel like family. They pay attention to the smallest of details, and that commitment showed in the quality of our stay. We highly recommend them to anyone traveling through the Athens area. The Gillen House Bed and Breakfast was everything we hoped for in a wedding venue. The property is absolutely beautiful, and its peaceful setting made it feel special from the moment we arrived. Staying in the bridal suite the night before and getting ready in the main house made the day feel seamless. The built-in bar inside a converted barn shed was a charming touch that made our cocktail hour even more memorable. The outdoor ceremony in front of the forest, with the wildflower meadow in the background, was stunning and exactly what we envisioned. The backyard was perfect for our tented reception, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful and unique the venue was. Not much to add that hasn't been said already. Edward and Cynzia are amazing hosts. Our stay was the result of my father-in-laws passing. Edward and Cynzia couldn't have been more caring, compassionate and patient with us as we navigated through this difficult time. The food was delicious and filling We experienced both a dinner as well as multiple breakfasts. The house and grounds are beautiful and clean. We look forward to staying here again.

We recently stayed at the Gillen House Bed & Breakfast, and it was truly a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home. Everywhere you look, there’s art—thoughtfully placed and adding to the charm of the space. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, and the modern bathrooms are a nice touch. The outdoor amenities make it easy to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting.

One of the highlights of our stay was the food. Cocktails, dinner, and breakfast were all excellent, clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. I went to the Gillen House for a wedding and immediately fell in love and knew I had to go back. For my 35th birthday I decided to rent out the 4 rooms and do a little family getaway. It was perfect.

The details around the house (the printed out personalized Welcome card) , the art, the food, the hosts, I mean just absolutely everything was so well thought out and best of all comfortable.

Definitely making this a birthday tradition moving forward.

My husband and I got married here in April 2023 and had the perfect wedding! The Gillen House is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. We chose April for the spring flowers and they did not disappoint. The Gillen House had beautiful, colorful flowers growing all over the property that were also used for our table settings. The upstairs of the house was a great space for me and my 8 bridesmaids to get ready in. The owners are also the sweetest and most accomodating people. They worked very well with all our vendors and really went the extra mile to make our day special. All of our guests loved the venue and we had an absolute blast celebrating. You will not beat their prices if you're looking in the Atlanta or Athens area. I highly recommend The Gillen House for your wedding!
