After having taken a leisurely stroll through the Desert Botanic Garden, we decided to have a bite to eat at this on-site restaurant. Wasn’t expecting to find such a great restaurant with the best meal, Hot Mess, recommended by the wonderful server! The atmosphere was delightful, seating choices inside at tables, at the bar or open air seating, covered. Easy access for all. Lots of fun menu choices, none of us were disappointed, quite the opposite! I’ll come again, just to eat here! Prices were very reasonable considering the quality was high and the portions were ample.

Our food was delish but the atmosphere was better. Definitely get the cauliflower (not pictured). My son’s Sun butter and prickly pear jelly sandwich was so good. The atmosphere was incredible being right at the garden!

The food is so delicious!! Everything we ate was cooked perfectly and so delicious! Atmosphere is exquisite in the patio surrounded with beautiful plants and trees. They have patio heating that keeps you warm. I had the braised bore it was so delicious the potatoes were delicious and the gravy was amazing. I added some extra shrimp. The house bread and butter was amazing. My girlfriend enjoyed her food. The staff is amazing very knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Absolutely blown away by my experience at Gertrude’s in Arizona! From the moment we arrived, we were mesmerized by the breathtaking outdoor patio, nestled within the stunning botanical gardens. The atmosphere was serene, yet vibrant, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal.

We kicked off our brunch with the huevos rancheros—flavor-packed and perfectly balanced. The breakfast fried rice was an unexpected delight, with savory, aromatic notes that left us wanting more. The breakfast bowl was a harmonious combination of fresh ingredients, making each bite a true joy. For dessert, the pistachio cheesecake was a dream - smooth, creamy, and decadently nutty. And the cookies and cream was simply out of this world - rich and indulgent, it was the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal.

Every dish we tried was absolutely magnificent, leaving us with no doubt that Gertrude’s knows how to do food right. The flavors were nothing short of finger-licking good, and the service was top-notch. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and experience this gem, it's an absolute must!!!!

I can't believe I haven't left a review here before. I absolutely love visiting Gertrude's, even if we don't plan on going through the garden. Luckily, with an annual membership, it's easy to head right in. I do recommend getting reservations in advance though.

On this particular visit, we started with the Elote Fritters. Yum! Very tasty. For our main meals, I tried the Steak & Taters and my wife and daughter split the Salmon meal. Both were delicious. The green peppercorn demi on mine was just what I was looking for. So good.

We didn't have any dessert this time but we saw a few things go by our table that looked great. We will have to give a dessert or two a go next time we visit.

Worked up an appetite while walking around the beautiful botanical garden, and came across this gem. The service was impeccable, and the food was amazing! I went during the week, so it was not as busy. This restaurant does recommend that you make a reservation, so I may have gotten lucky. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. Since the restaurant is located in the garden, there’s scenic views everywhere. Family friendly.

Visited with work friends for a holiday lunch. The ambience and food were amazing! Varied menu for all diets. Service was good and despite lunch crowd food came in a timely manner. Definitely will visit more often. It's a hidden jewel right in the DBG area.
