Went for the jazz brunch, the musicians were great and the ambiance was top too. It wasn't too loud and we were able to carry conversation without having to shout or worry about loud tables.

The downside was definitely the eggs benedict. It was a tad overpriced, undercooked, and surprisingly, had too much truffle. It was served with a wilted salad that soaked up the egg and hollandaise sauce to a gross extent. The fries and chicken sandwich were quite good however.

Make sure to get the cinnamon rolls, they were delicious.

The food is absolutely delicious! Still thinking about my breakfast. First time ever having Chilaquiles. So goodšŸ˜‹
The service was great even though we had a table of 12 people. They took care of our group very well.
The place is decorated with a modern touch and lots of wood makes it feel warm. This is a place you don't want to hurry away from if you're dining. I recommend eating here if you have the chance.

We returned to Geraldine’s nearly a year after our first visit on New Year’s Day for brunch, this time celebrating our anniversary with dinner. From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless and welcoming.

The valet staff set the tone with their kindness and professionalism, even pointing out the entrance to the restaurant again. Their friendly energy made us feel at ease right away.

Upon being seated, we were surprised and delighted to find ourselves at the exact same table as last year—almost as if the hostess intuitively knew. Our server was exceptional, showing genuine interest in our story after learning we’d traveled from Canada to visit again.

To start, we ordered the milkbread, which absolutely lived up to the high bar set by their buttermilk biscuits from brunch. Paired with the decadent black garlic butter, it was irresistible—honestly, we could have made a meal out of several orders of these alone.

The crisp artichoke hearts were another standout. Perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, they were so good we nearly forgot to take a photo before digging in.

For our mains, we opted for the 72-hour short rib and the Tiger Prawn al Ajillo. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and as Canadians who rarely get to enjoy truly authentic barbecue, we were blown away. It rivaled the best barbecue we’ve had in Texas—and we’ve had plenty on previous trips. The Tiger Prawns were equally impressive: massive, flavorful, and served headless (as we’d confirmed beforehand). Both dishes were so memorable, we’d order them again in a heartbeat—though the duck on the menu might tempt us next time.

To round off the evening, we enjoyed the Holiday Peppermint Espresso Martini, with its delightful crushed candy cane rim. Sweet and festive, it brought back fond memories of the espresso martinis we enjoyed during last year’s brunch.

Geraldine’s continues to be a must-visit for us whenever we’re in Texas. Even though we didn’t stay at Hotel Van Zandt this year, dining here was non-negotiable. We’re already looking forward to making this a tradition, with hopes of returning for New Year’s Day brunch next year. Thank you, Geraldine’s, for yet another unforgettable experience!

Food was good but service left a lot to be desired. The restaurant was not full and I was alone and hostess only allowed me to sit at the bar or outside despite many tables being open on the inside. Those same tables were still unoccupied after I had left. I ordered two dishes and they were both brought to me at the same time instead of in sequence. Not only did the food get cold by the time I started my second dish, but the speed also made me feel like I was at a fast food restaurant almost making me feel like they were just trying to turn tables super fast. Overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

This restaurant and the hotel its located in are so beautiful. I ate at Geraldine’s for dinner two nights in a row, and the food and mocktails I ordered were so delicious. I ordered a pasta with sea urchin butter (very fancy), and it was yummy but I wished they provided a larger portion, as I was still hungry after. I ordered biscuits with honey butter, and it was by far the best biscuits I’ve ever had. On night two, I had the most delicious mussels in a white wine and garlic broth and devoured the entire plate, while dipping my sourdough bread in the remaining broth.

Highly recommend - amazing food, good service, incredible vibes and live music. 5 stars

Geraldine’s at the Hotel Van Zandt is an absolute gem! I recently attended their jazz brunch, and it was an unforgettable experience. The classy atmosphere, combined with live jazz music, set the perfect vibe for a relaxing and enjoyable brunch.

The drinks were exceptional – the espresso martini was rich and smooth, while the French 76 was perfectly refreshing. The Caesar salad with garlic dressing and chicken was a standout dish, fresh and flavorful, complementing the upscale dining experience. The staff were super friendly and prompt, even with a packed restaurant!

Whether you're a local or just visiting Austin, Geraldine’s is a must-visit for a sophisticated brunch with fantastic live music. Highly recommend!

Excellent service and ambiance. (Live music as well on some evenings for certain days) The Charred and True cocktail is a must-try for a smooth drink.
