Lovely old hotel in a peaceful setting with luxuriously large rooms. Beds were very comfortable, with five large pillows on each one. Bathroom had a heat lamp in it and was also quite large. Not for those seeking sleek and flashy environs. For us, the charm of the old decor was so appreciated and worth it. Very nice, quiet stay. Lovely gift shop and very nice breakfast in the morning.

This past week the wife and I stayed at the hotel as we have many times in the past. We checked in with the reservation that we had made and were given the room card. We went to the room and dropped all of our baggage so that we could visit our son who lives 20 minutes from the hotel. My wife got a call stating that we were placed in the wrong room and that they wanted to transfer our baggage which my wife agreed to. When my wife told me what had happened I told her to immediately call the hotel that because I had a firearm I was reluctant to let anyone else move our baggage. When I got to the hotel I got one of the luggage room carts and immediately went to the room where we had been placed only to discover we were already locked out of said room, imagine my rage. I remained calm and let the desk let us in the room so we could collect our belongings and were transferred just down the hall to a room that was so small your knees were against the shower enclosure when using the commode and your arm was bumping the door when you were standing at the sink. This was nothing like the rooms that we were familiar with when staying at the hotel in the past. Next year the wife and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and we planned friends and family from Ohio to stay at the hotel to share that celebration with us. I can tell you that after this experience we will not be returning to the hotel, period. Such a shame to treat returning customers in this manner.

Pleasant โ€œhistoricโ€ property attached to the recreational Ft Harrison state park. Very clean and comfortable with knowledgeable front desk staff. We explored the park and its trails before dining in a nearby Mexican restaurant (reviewed separately). Continental breakfast served in the inn offers a variety of options. The entire Ft Harrison environment is a sprawling decommissioned military base with many brick buildings converted to various uses in the town of Lawrence, including the aforementioned Mexican restaurant. The Inn and Park provided us with a refreshing change from the usual accommodations typically experienced on a long road trip.

Positive: A beautiful older building that has been completely renovated and is well maintained, it's location seems secluded but is close to restaurants and shops. A very romantic stay. Our bed was very comfortable, bathroom huge. The staff was friendly and helpful. Negative: Parking can be tight during busy times. Some rooms need more lighting and to have furniture repaired/replaced. Elevators are serviceable but kind of creaky.

This was formally a military hospital during WW2, so I was very pleasantly surprised at how modern and up dated it was. The room was clean, and the included breakfast was satisfactory. Every staff member was friendly and seemed to enjoy their job. It is very close to Harrison State Park, which offers many activities. The only disappointment was that there is no on-site dining, otherwise than breakfast. However, there are a few restaurants nearby.

Here for a work retreat. Cool older building. It is conveniently located next to the Fort Harrison state park and plan to do some hiking while in town. It is just outside Indy and conveniently near shopping and restaurants. The decor is in pretty old. But I don't mind since it adds a bit of character to the grand old building. Did not get towels... The room is huge. The best part about it is this beautiful sun room where I spent my day working offsite. Nice wooded view into the state park.

Becca at the front desk was absolutely PHENOMENAL! She went above and beyond to make sure our girls trip went spectacular. She even gave us a tour of the hotel & the history of the building. We will definitely recommend and be back! Breakfast was so good! They had sausage, potatoes, waffles, yogurt, cereal, cooked cinnamon apples, danishes & muffins, coffee, hot chocolate, cranberry juice & milk. They are renovating but donโ€™t let the scaffolding scare you away, the inside is so elegant.
