Rooms were a bit cold in the winter but we absolutely loved being on the farm and interacting with the animals! Perfect overnight stop for our drive from Utah to Washington.

I'm not kidding you, this place is a five star review on everything. My daughter got family a room for Christmas. It was fantastic! Farm animals come to your door. The view was breath taking! I believe it was a miracle,as we are recovering from family passing. Huge kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 4 separate beds, a fireplace,even an ice maker, but the most memorable thing of all was the decorated tree. This place is a treat if you visit Eastern Oregon. I will be back for sure.

I'm from Vancouver, WA, so I dont usually get a whiff of country living very often. My daughter and I booked Elk Song for a 4-day stay, and it was amazing! There is nothing better than to seeing goats in the morning at the sliding glass doors in the living room, helping yourself to morning fresh chicken eggs from the coup for breakfast, and taking your kids out to check out all the other farm animals. The mountains from your window or from the porch during your morning coffee are so surreal, you can imagine yourself reaching out and touching them. How about sitting around a warm fire pit in the evening with a cup hot chocolate and/or smores?

It's not the Hilton, so if that's what you want, you need to stay in the city, but the home is large, spacious, comfortable, and clean. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and soak up the ambiance.

Foothill Retreat is an easy 5 stars!! The scenery in beautiful eastern Oregon is amazing. The farm animals at Foothill Retreat are so friendly they seem like the family dog. You can pet and feed the horses, goats, cows and even the pigs, oh and the dogs that run around are just as friendly as your own family dog. I give the owner of this place 10 stars, and I hope you will continue to read to find out why.

I live in Island City and my family all lives in the Portland metro area. They come to visit me every summer and stay at the Foothill Retreat. They have been doing this for the last 4 years. Very recently (October of 2022) I tragically lost my wife, she was only 40 years old. My family wanted to come out and be with me so they called the Foothill Retreat, when he found out what had happen he let my family and me stay there for4 days without charge. Now my family comes and stays every summer but they are essentially strangers to him. This says so much about what kind of person he his. It strengthens my belief in that true good and honest people still exist!! He helped me and my family out in a time of need without even thinking twice about it. You can rest assured he will continue to get our business. Thank you so much for compassion Foothill Retreat!!

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect. Clean and spacious. Very relaxing setting - close to the freeway, but not too close. The layout of the bathrooms is a bit quirky, so read the description carefully if you're bringing a crowd. The host is friendly and professional.
