Great visit! Perfect location on the lake. Slower than during the summer, it was perfect. Use the walking path around the island, a great way to get some exercise!

I ended up cleaning for about two hours this morning before being able to check out of the room which is a very unrelaxed thing way to end a vacation and also makes you wonder what you’re paying for with a resort fee or cleaning charges anyways? There is no maid service. Also only one round of clean towels.

I was so concerned they would “fine me” for not “cleaning” enough. I took all these pics when I left to show I cleaned and it was too much stress for a resort. The first resort I wiped down everything, did dishes, vacuumed and swept before checking out, but no mess - just they make you FEEL PRESSURED.

When you arrive to your suite, there is an unwelcoming memo on a bright green piece of paper stating policies that are not very “friendly” or “accommodating” considering it is supposedly a vacation and a resort. Including that TOWELS have to be all placed in a specific position under vanity, also you have to do dishes before you can leave, the thermostat has to be set to exact specific way, AND you have to take out ALL trash from every single trashcan; as if you are the maid. In my past I have actually worked at resorts in guest services, customer service, as well as housekeeping. This is an insane level of standards and responsibility they put on the guests who are supposed to be able to relax and be on vacation and pay for these accommodations.

I had to clean the room for about three hours to even get comfortable to be able to unpack my bags and stay. Which makes me wonder why they require so much cleaning for guests and also what resort and cleaning fees are for? It is as if they are trying to cut down on their cost of staff by putting the labor onto their guests. It is very clear that they never take time to actually deep clean these rooms and there are many scratches and stains on everything including the toilet seat and a ring of poop in the bottom of the toilet as if they never properly clean it. This is not normal at a resort and hadn’t been made clear their bizarre standards we would’ve never booked. But they make you feel like you will be making a mess for them!!

I called two weeks before when I booked the room and made sure before I put any money down on the reservation to talk about my disability and that I travel with a service animal and ask for special accommodation to bring my kitten. While the front desk at The Nautical was very understanding and put my anxieties at ease by saying they thought it was cute that I would like to bring my kitten with my service dog. It sucks enough I am unwell to even boat or jet ski due to my situation, & this is one of my first times being able to travel since being in a terrible accident being hit by a drunk driver and having to cancel a vacation so injured. This was partially to make up for that cancelled vacation which was supposed to be my 30th birthday celebration. 🙁

The first cabin club was very rude upon finding that I had my therapy animals with me, and few days into the “vacation,” they accused me of bringing PETS without permission. And although I have disclosed that my kitten is an ESA in advance, and I was traveling with a registered service dog while ridiculing me for having a disability they never actually asked me if I wanted help or needed help with anything! I actually REALLY NEEDED assistance with my bags, and none was offered during check in or out, though both times I stated I have a service dog (hence I have a disability?!!). Yet so much drama about my service animals and I am disabled technically!

They almost made me cry as if I don’t have a disability because I physically don’t look like I have one and almost ruined an entire afternoon of the vacation. They threaten to find me a $200 pet fee and have never cleared up with me whether or not I will be charged?!

In addition this experience has made it very clear to me why not to get a timeshare as the first cabin club is the timeshare side and the resort side was very accommodating and did not have problems and actually is “pet friendly.”

The room was small and disgusting.
Hair all over the bathroom.
Jacuzzi Tub Not cleaned. Hair all over it too.
Didn’t vacuum the place when they cleaned.

Our neighbors said they have come there before and have gotten used to just cleaning the place as soon as they arrive. ( Not my idea of a vacation).

Staff only there M-F 8-4:00. So screwed on weekend and after hours if needed anything

Had to pay for Laundry

They allowed The Coots (small black water fowl) to-be in the pool. So there was poop all over and In it. Disgusting and Disease potential. Don’t think Health department would approve.

The Internet was very very poor had to call them 4 times to try and get working.

We gave a 2 star just cuz it was right on the beach which was very nice and the weather was in 70’s

Won’t be back.

Quiet, and calm. Nice place to stay if you have other things going on, but not a destination that will keep you entertain. Also bring extra towels, if you need them, cause they will charge you for asking for more.
