We were passing through Birmingham on a road trip and originally booked a different Fairfield in the area that was older and a higher amount of Bonvoy points; we were surprised to find this property was much newer, better rated, and had such a low redemption rate. The hotel is located not far off I-459 and about 20 minutes to downtown Birmingham. When we arrived, we were offered bottled water and a light snack (presumably for Bonvoy status) which was a much-appreciated gesture. The room was what you would expect from a newer Fairfield - spacious, clean, and sufficient for a good night’s rest. Both the lobby and breakfast area were much nicer than I’ve seen at other Fairfields; based on the design of the common areas, I was surprised to find the property wasn’t brand new. The breakfast had a nice variety of food (though no waffle maker) and I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a Fairfield utilize actual tableware, but it was a nice change of pace from paper and plastic. The other member of my party noted as we checked out that the staff seemed to get along well and the hotel had a nice community feel. For a quick overnight road trip stop, we found this Fairfield worked for our needs and would recommend it.

Perfect - extremely clean, quiet, modern, and comfortable. Very satisfied. Definitely seems all new/remodeled. Comfortable beds. Spacious rooms. Check in process was easy. Breakfast and parking included. 10/10.

The hotel itself is a good price for the local and accommodations. This was my 2nd or 3rd time staying at this property. I stayed the 9-10. This visit was very unpleasant. The front desk clerk was extremely rude, argumentative and unhelpful. I’m not accustomed to having a bad experience with Fairfield, so it was shocking. I don’t want to give the property an overall bad rating, because I do like the hotel. This review was solely based on the bad experience with the staff member.

Terrible location, especially if your room faces the highway. I was on the 4th floor, and could not sleep because of the noise. The noise of the traffic was worse than I have ever experienced in many hotels I stayed at. Service and rooms were good, excellent breakfast, a great gym, but horrible sleep. If you stay here, request a room away from the traffic. With that said, I canceled my upcoming stay in that hotel.

Great location. Staff was nice and helpful.
The hotel its self needs some updates though. The back door to enter from outside with your key wasn’t working. The front desk said I wasn’t the first to report it not working. The parking lot is very small so we had to park in the back and then couldn’t enter in that door. We had to walk back to the front. (It was pouring down rain) 😭
The bathroom door in our room wouldn’t lock unless you slammed the door shut and pushed. The bathroom door had what looks like splattered coffee. The room could use a good wipe down though.

Love the staff. Location is good. However, they have new policies that have me looking elsewhere, which was implemented around August this year. This is not a Marriott policy, it’s a policy specific to this location, which resulted in them authorizing 350-700 dollars over my stay on multiple occasions. The process that caused this is complicated, and the solution for this issue was not reasonable. This policy was not explained at checkin, even the front desk wasn’t aware of the issue until I figured it out after multiple occurrences. I was a regular there but have decided that loyalty only goes so far and will be trying a different hotel during my next trip.

Stayed a few days the week of Thanksgiving and had an issue with my room. I spoke with Ebony and she not only took care of me, she wow’d me. I was able to move rooms, and better yet, received an upgrade for the inconvenience, which with her help, there was no inconvenience. She’s a gem!

Horrible customer service! 2 emails and 3 voicemails were never answered. If you run into an issue during your stay don’t expect it to be addressed. Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else.
