We had a great stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites in Bakersfield. The hotel is located in a pretty safe and secure area, which gave us peace of mind right from the start. We arrived early and, although early check-in wasn’t available, the staff kindly let us wait in the comfortable, air-conditioned lobby—a lifesaver on a hot day.

The front desk woman was super nice and helpful. When I had trouble printing from the lobby computer, she stepped in and printed it for me, which I really appreciated. The hotel and our room were both nicely decorated, and the entire property felt clean, comfortable, and welcoming.

Breakfast was another highlight, with a great selection of options to start the day off right. Overall, a top-notch experience—we’d definitely stay here again!

Same beat up dump where your work truck is at about 50/50 chance on getting broken into as the rest of Bakersfield. What really sets this aside from the others hotels in the area is the motion sensor in the room, power will turn off after 20 mins on the toilet or asleep. Woke up to all my gear dead, no charge on the phone I plugged in, and well behind on the file uploads needed to be completed for work. If you all can’t afford power in guest rooms may I recommend making the showers coin op? Can I also recommend weight sensitive fridges, so if a guest put items of their own in the fridge you can add a charge to the bill! There are so many other great ways to screw the customer you all are not taking advantage of!

Staff could’ve been friendlier. But they were ok. Right next to car dealership so that’s what we saw from the 3rd floor window. But all in all it was a good place. Clean. But very busy. Lots of people and hard to find parking later at night.

The woman at the front desk around 1pm on 3/15/2025 treated us horribly. She told us we would be charged $50 extra because check-in wasn’t until 3pm. Our friends who checked in an hour before us and had a different check-in manager were not charged this ridiculous fee since there were rooms ready. She wouldn’t even begin to process my check-in since I wouldn’t pay this unnecessary fee. So, I attended the event I was in town for, and only afterwards when I returned to this hotel exhausted and cold, was able to check in at midnight with a different employee at the front desk instead of being able to go straight to a room and go to bed. When I told this employee what happened with the other woman when I tried to check in, she couldn’t believe it and agreed that it wasn’t right. The woman at the afternoon shift was homophobic. Thankfully we will never have a need to stay here again, but the experience left me questioning my loyalty to Marriott branded hotels and my membership with them.

The woman who welcomed us upon arrival just after midnight was unwelcoming and rude. She didn't warned me about the extra $50 deposit on my credit card which could have been nice. Breakfast was good with some options. Room was clean, of good size and the beds were comfy.

Shannon at front desk should be the poster picture of Marriott customer service. She provided excellent attention to the reservation. Her professionalism and great attention to detail of our needs goes beyond the call of duty. Shannon is the reason why Mariott Hotels are the only option while travelling.

The room is clean, but SMALL and the carpet has a stinky smell. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is awful. It's not what those pictures of their website shows. Not much variety and selection: Scrambled eggs( super dry), turkey sausage (under cooked), bagel, waffles, cereals, over ripped banana and apples. That's all. They stop filling the tray around 8am. They keep the butter and cream cheese inside the kitchen that you need to ask for them, and the lady only gives each customer one. Sugar and sweeteners in Coffee section are in jars, not individual bags.

Positive: The location right off the highway. Staff was professional and friendly. It was quiet. The room was clean when we arrived. Negative: I didn?t realize they do not come and clean the rooms for the two nights we were there. I had to ask for clean towels. Breakfast could be better
