Location is good and in a safe location but the rooms leave much to be desired. The AC is right next to the bed so cold air blows over you at night. The AC was also really loud and woke me up constantly throughout the night when it turned on. I didn’t hear any noise from the freeway though. The bathroom also had a musty smell to it, which I later discovered was due to some water leaking from the unit above! There are also only plugs on only one side of the bed so it was inconvenient for charging devices.

Breakfast is extremely basic as others have noted compared to other Fairfield Inns.

I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times now. I will probably keep it on rotation for when driving through Bakersfield. Staff is always exceedingly pleasant. The breakfast has gone downhill since I first started staying there. It’s a more streamlined breakfast compared to other Fairfield Inns. (Ex. No peanut butter no honey small things like that).

The rooms have always been clean and well kept. Always very happy with the fitness center and the location near to the long bike path that runs through Bakersfield. In walking distance to a couple of decent restaurants as well as a Starbucks.

My one issue, however, is the pillows. I have dusty allergies and this hotel has always set off my allergies like crazy. But 99% of the time I travel with my own pillow so it’s not that big of an issue, but I do wish they would wash the pillows more often since this seems to be a reoccurring problem.

Room was nice, bed was comfortable. Fixtures were good quality, the whole place was pretty clean.
Breakfast was mediocre, but not any worse than the crap that most hotels are left with these days.
My biggest problem was the road noise and poor windows. My window wouldn't latch properly and needed a new seal. This hotel is located near a highway interchange, and also with pretty heavy traffic at street level. The noise was inescapable. My AC unit was pretty loud as well which didn't help.

I don't plan on staying here again the next time I'm in Bakersfield.

If I could rate a 0 I would. I call guy says no need to reserve we have room available. I show up the lobby is locked? I call and he opens. Then I ask about why the doors locked? Are the guest locked in And he says yes I open door at 5am What the hell what a waste.

The general manager is superior, Gilda, with customer service. Accommodating and helpful, as was the front desk gentleman.
The night desk man is very friendly but needs more training in customer service.
A woman's coffee maker was broken and she asked where the lobby coffee was located. The kitchen person had just removed the lobby coffee service a few moments before the lady arrived in the lobby. He could have easily gotten her a coffee from the dining area, but told her she had to wait 10 minutes until they opened. Sounds silly but it was a big deal to her. (And the same gentleman was very capable of going back to get his breakfast before that...)
With the competition nowadays, customer service is often what makes the difference.

I reported a highly schizophrenic person who was obviously intoxicated and the heavily under the influence of drugs banging on my door I called the front desk and because I didn't feel comfortable leaving my name I was told and I quote there is nothing I can do if your not willing to verify that your staying in this hotel I can not help you unbelievable I couldn't believe my ears the blatant audacity!

It's a nice and comfy place to stay. Everything is so close, food, Costco, it's a nice atmosphere. A++++
The General manager is very friendly and helpful.. he is willing to help in every way possible.
