I would highly recommend this hotel. The room was very clean when we got there. The front desk personnel are very nice. They’re always going an extra mile to make sure that you are happy with your stay. We stayed three nights and I will be coming back if we’re ever in Alabama again

the entire place is sketchy. there’s homeless people with duffel bags in the bushes, weird men just sitting and watching you walk in, rude staff, etc. there was a girl with orange hair working the front desk during our stay. we informed her there was a guy sitting on the curb next to the hotel pool just drinking bottles of beer, you can smell the beer from feet away from him. he was very weird and made us feel a little unsafe and worried about our vehicles. we had come back from dinner after 2 hours and he was still sitting out there. she didn’t care, she did absolutely nothing. she couldn’t even call the cops because what he was doing was also illegal. she just sat there on her phone. everytime we walked through the lobby she was glued to her phone or watching a show/movie on it. she seemed too lazy to actually do her own job. meanwhile another woman in the morning walks around using a mobility aid and i never saw her sitting she was constantly up and doing something. the rooms smelled weird, the exterior of the building was very outdated and made the area look run down.

This hotel is run down, but equivalent in price to surrounding hotels. All the windows have severe condensation on the inside, which means the entire hotel is 100% humidity all the time. You will feel like you bed is damp. If you have a room with one of these windows, your air conditioner, which is right beneath it will blow air that smells like mildew. The carpets are in dire need of a deep clean, as a result everything has old food odor. The staff was very nice, and this review is not a reflection on them. Oh, and by the way, if your stay isn't long enough, you don't get your bed made or fresh towels. I stayed 2 nights and walked into an unmade bed and my dirty towels still on the floor. I can get that at an airbnb. The booking also did not make that clear. Look elsewhere - literally right next door in all directions.

Positive: When I used to come back in 2017 the hotel was very clean and the staff was prompt now they don't have hand soap a lot of the time and no coffee in the common area some people must be scared to leave the room. Negative: They keep price gouging and the hotel used to be $--- dollars for the smaller hotel the bigger hotel is down the street it used to be $--- dollars. Now they charging $--- to $--- sometimes so I don't see how they Don't have no supplies

Positive: The staff was superb! Negative: The water was cut off for most of the day which meant I had to COMPLETELY change my plan (sleep schedule and everything) because of this. Things happen but somehow I feel this could have been handled differently/better.

Could use some updating. Elevator a little sketchy. The bathroom door hit the frame and the floor so it was hard to close and wouldn't open all the way.
Smelled like they've had moisture issues.
Only had a sheer curtain over the window so it was "daylight" all night.
Worked for our purposes for a short stay but I wouldn't stay here again.

We booked a room and on our way to the room we noticed the carpet in the hotel was not clean. Got to our room and the room smelled like pee. We went to return our room key and leave. We have stayed in so many dog friendly hotels and this is the first time our room smelled terrible. Room was 200.00 a night and felt like it was a 50.00 a night room.

VERY OUTDATED. Unfortunately, this Fairfield is very outdated. The lobby reeks of cigarette smoke and “old hotel.” The carpets are worn out, and there isn’t anything special about the rooms. For the price, I recommend staying at a newer and more updated hotel in the area. As long as customers keep paying $110+/night, the owners won’t feel forced to update anything.

Positives:
The customer service was nice, the location is ideal, and the free breakfast was decent (despite the fairly rude attendant working the area).
