We had a wonderful time, it was so beautiful once we pulled up and saw the horses in the meadow and house. It was beautifully decorated inside, and we enjoyed the history of the house. We loved the gardens and peace and quiet. Linda was a gracious hostess and the breakfast was wonderful!!!! We stayed in the Princess Suite and highly recommend staying here

Fair Haven was one of the reasons my daughter's wedding at Cloverleaf Farm, 2 miles away, was the most magical nights ever! The bridesmaids stayed at Fair Haven for the weekend and it was perfect. Ken was a wonderful host (and cook) and made the girls feel very special. We had a bridesmaids brunch on Saturday morning and Ken served Paula Dean's French toast. Yummy! I can't say enough about the house itself. It is absolutely stunning. My daughter's fiancé's parents stayed in the cottages on the property. It all worked out perfectly! Thank you Ken, for being a key factor in our perfect wedding weekend!

We had a wonderful time at this bed and breakfast! I was a bridesmaid staying here with the entire bridesmaid party and it was absolutely magical! There were plenty of places to get ready in the home for the wedding, and there were 11 bridesmaids! Ken was more than accommodating, and the food was absolutely amazing! Ubers will also take you back to this bed and breakfast from Athens which was nice! The staff was so nice, and we all felt so welcomed!

What a lovely and bed and breakfast this is. From turning down the winding path to the plantation styled home you know you have found something special. The owner Ken is a gracious host. He took the time to give us the complete history of the home. Ken even drove us into town our first evening and helped us navigate the restaurant and bar scene. We were in town for a football game and he even gave me hand warmers for the cold game. We stayed in the green room and the other couple traveling with us stayed in the gold room. Both rooms were wonderfully decorated and very comfortable. Ken is also an awesome cook! Breakfast was amazing and he even made sure there was Iced Tea every morning per request. (Thank you Ken 👍🏻). If you have a chance to stay at this property you will not be disappointed. Only problem with the weekend was the score of the football game.

Loved it! We had the honeymoon/bridal suite but were the only people there, and Ken left everything open and made it feel as though the whole mansion was ours. VERY historic, revolutionary era party there with clothing worn at the event framed and on display. Great breakfasts, horses to enjoy, and so many wonderful antiques. We highly recommend it! Tucked down a tree-lined lane about 10 miles east of Athens is a beautiful southern plantation! To spend an evening at Fair Havens is to step back in time - to the era of hoop skirts and horse-drawn carriages. Just finding the home, through the timber, is one surprise! Learning that the host, Ken, has lovingly done the restoration on the home is another, wonderful surprise! He's also a great cook, preparing a delicious breakfast for his traveler guests. We were looking for something "out of the ordinary" to enjoy while vacationing in the Carolinas and Georgia, and at Fair Havens we found it!

Upon arriving at the Fair Havens Plantation we were taken back by the beauty of this historic home and the grounds that it sits on. This interior decor is very detailed and some of the antiques are really amazing, however the home has the amenities and facilities to accommodate you in the modern era. Ken is a wonderful host and the knowledge he shares of the area and the house's history is awesome. He was more than accommodating and the breakfast served is by far much better than you'd get at a chain hotel. Our room was very nice and the bed was so comfortable. The bathroom is large and the options of shower or tub was nice as well. It is about a 15 minute ride into Athens, but that was no problem and Ubber and Lyfts are available. We are so happy we chose to stay here for a weekend get away to enjoy the Athens area. We look forward to going back again one day!

Fair Havens Plantation was recommended to me by some close friends that have traveled the globe several times over so their opinion can be trusted. I'm glad I listened. Owners Ken and his wife are gracious host's. They spared no expense returning this once abandoned building to it's original splendor. From your initial impression as you arrive down a wooded drive you immediately know you're in for a one of a kind experience. Each room has been meticulously decorated to reflect the "Gone With the Wind" era. We stayed in the Gold Room. It was spacious, extremely clean and had it's own bathroom. If you've stayed in many B & B's you know this can be a rarity. Honestly, my favorite part was breakfast. Folks, Ken can cook!! The first morning was bacon and spinach quiche, breakfast taters and coffee cake with assorted fruits. The second morning was Sausage and egg casserole with assorted sides. Maybe the most important factor was how welcoming Ken was. No request was too great. The Dawg game we attended was rainy, windy and cold. When we arrived back at Fair Havens, Ken had prepared a fire for us to warm our bones. Details like that must be mentioned. Be sure you ask Ken for the historical tour. As a history fanatic, I found it quite fascinating. I could go on and on about Fair Havens but I think you understand what you can expect by staying here. Ken and his wife have set the standard for B & B's across America. I highly recommend Fair Havens Plantation and suggest you give this place serious consideration if you're in the area. Skip the high prices of staying in town and take in all the southern charm of the old south. If you listen hard enough you may even hear the Marquis de Lafayette as he was entertained in this very house.
