Very clean - the lobby, the halls and common areas, the room. We had a room with a king sized bed and a pull out couch. We had to ask at the front desk for bedding for the pull out bed but they couldn’t give us pillows for it, saying they had none (?). The king sized bed had 4 small pillows so we were able to give one to our kid to use but no extra pillows was a little weird.

First, it's difficult to find. Then the advertisement said there was a pool. *Closed for repairs*(read "indefinitely.") so my children were terribly disappointed. Then the "breakfast" well, I can say the coffee is at least hot here. On the morning of our last stay, 03/16/25, I had forgotten my car keys so I could charge my phone. I also had forgotten my key card. The attendant said my name wasn't on the room, my husband's was. So I asked her to call the room them and clarify who I am. She snarkily told me to call him myself.

I had driven to Cleveland to go to Cleveland Clinic in a Hail Mary to save my life. They told me there was no hope. So I wake up to this clerk this morning who told me she couldn't make a phone call to my room, nor could she call the room and verify who I am.

I have stayed at many hotels across this great nation and never once have I had such a disrespectful retort to a perfectly reasonable request. Full disclosure, this was in front of my children who had also forgotten their key. I may have lost my cool, but I only met discourtesy with equal discourtesy. Then she called the police saying I assaulted her (in front of my children?!?). The police then informed me that they had no basis for an assault charge. They directed me to get a hold of corporate since they have had numerous calls to this particular location.

The lead investigator said to call the local police department and ask beforehand which hotels have the most complaints to assure a safe stay. The police tried to deescalate the clerk, while I was speaking reasonably with them. They apologized that they had to at least make a report of disorderly conduct. They then told me how to get out of that citation, because they saw the video and they saw me being reasonable with them. Independence PD gets 10 stars, Extended Stay only gets one star for hot coffee.

We booked this location for a pool. We were there several days and needed something the kids could do since it was winter. We called the front desk to be certain there was an indoor pool and we could access it, since it was pretty far from our destination if not. We arrived to find the pool had been closed for some time. Breakfast is a joke. Unless your kids like coffee, plan on making your own breakfast. Don't expect coffee on your way out the door, either. It closes with the short breakfast bar. We were shocked to find we needed a $120 security deposit for damages and another $120 if we wanted dishes and cookware that we thought was included with the room. That led me to believe we were not in a desirable area. So, no pool after a whole day in the car getting there and a long commute to our destination while there; that was a blast. The room itself was great. There is a lot of space for toddlers to play and our room had cubicles for storage, which the kids used and thought was fun. The movable pleather ottoman fit under the bathroom sink so the kids could use the sink and mirror by themselves, which was one of the best parts of the room for clean up and versatility. No carpet and a full sized fridge were wonderful as well. The staff was courteous and it was decorated nicely for Christmas, which the kids will remember. But being lied to will certainly affect my opinion of the franchise moving forward.

0 overall stars. Ignore the 1 star.

Sure, it’s close to the interstate which is great. Which could count as the one star.

However, do you want a clean room, with hot water? Well, don’t stay here then. Do you want more than a top sheet on the bed? Keep looking.

If you want a constant flow of strangers hanging out in the parking lot coming in and out of the unlocked hotel lobby doors at all hours- this is your place.

Do you want to have to call the cops because one of the “guests” assaults you because you asked them to turn down the music at midnight?-come to this hotel. The cops showed up two times during our stay. And mentioned to someone in the party “they are called to this location all of the time. And people are held at gunpoint here.”

If that’s not concerning enough, on two different occasions a male “guest” or perhaps “resident” exposed themselves to children in our party.

The hotel “ran out of keys” before everyone on our team was even checked in. How did they solve the issue? They escorted families to their rooms and let them in with a master key. And when you wanted back in your room they had to go back up with you and never asked for ID!

As if that’s not enough, the place is filthy and smells like weed. Several families in our party encountered roaches in the rooms. Many rooms had exposed wires and or water damage.

Seriously, I could go on. But the fact that several in our party requested a refund and were denied it probably isn’t even worth it.

Positive: The gentleman man at the desk was very pleasant, when I was checking in. Negative: The hotel halls were being renovated. My room had a very strong fume smell, the heating unit was very loud. The pillows were very flat. I couldn?t get local channels.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.
When we arrived for our stay, we were told the hotel was out of room keys and that someone from the front desk would have to walk us to our room and key us in each time we needed access. I personally spoke to three different employees at different times when I needed access. NO ONE checked the name on my reservation, my ID, or any other confirmation document that showed I was asking to access my own room. Anyone could have walked up to the front desk and given them a number and they would have blindly led and keyed in a complete stranger to any room.

The man across the hall from my room was violating quiet hours set by the hotel at check in. The police showed up and arrested him. The police later told parents in our group that he was a convicted felon with an outstanding warrant.

This hotel was required for us to stay in as part of the pay-to-play that HockeyTime requires for its tournaments. The hotel charged us $171/night, when you can rent it online for $51/night.

There was garbage piled up in the hallways, it looked as if it hadn't been emptied for some time. As a result, cockroaches were in our in room kitchen.

The complimentary breakfast was yogurt and stale muffins wrapped in plastic.

Super, super disappointed in this required hotel for our hockey tournament. I would never, ever take a child to this hotel.

I stayed here and had a wonderful, relaxing, and enjoyable weekend. The room was big, spacious, and clean. No roaches. The employees were amazing, friendly, and helpful. The reason why this is a 3 star hotel, is because it does not have everything you need in your room. Nor does it have the big hot breakfast or all day coffee. If you want to cook in your room, bring your own appliances. Otherwise you will have to purchase a cooking kit at the front desk. I did not do that. There is a microwave, but no dishes. You do have your choice of delicious restaurants in the area.
You are supplied with a paper that lists all the rules, extras, appliances that are free or not free, and times for breakfast. All in all I had a wonderful stay here.

Bedbugs, broken heat in sub zero outside temps, shower with no hot water, furniture redo with a a couple hours notice. 5 week stay this time.Housekeeping staff is great. Most of the day front desk staff are nice and hard working. I have stayed here over 100 room nights in the last year. I will not return. After the bedbug fiasco. Not even a call by the manager or assistance Manger offering an apology or what they could do to make it right. Very unprofessional. This place is poorly managed and going in the wrong direction. There are better places to stay. Avoid it at all costs.
