It's wrong and ungrateful to make up lies about those who patronized your business. They accused me of taking their blankets but it's impossible since I have no car, and nowhere to put a blanket. I also do not need their blankets since any new motel I check into has covers. Very conniving owners.. will charge extra for no reason. Avoid at all costs. Any business that does not respect its customers must go out of business.

The Eugene Lodge and international hostel was my first hostel experience. I have waited a long time to spend less money and stay in community. And I was not at all disappointed. I think the Eugene Lodge is a special place. The staff Are friendly and communicative and joyful. And the layout makes it really easy to connect with them and the other guests. Everyone is there to share a story and enjoy one another's company. One of my favorite nights was an evening around the fire when guests and staff all hung out and had a great time. The staff also worked very hard to keep the place clean. And one of the most incredible things is that you can get a free breakfast. You can make your own eggs for breakfast. You can make toast or pancakes. That really saved me a lot of money. It was very hot while I was there but I was able to sleep comfortably. And that's really saying something in Eugene, a place that is not built to be air-conditioned.

I feel awful writing anything less than a five star review for this hostel because I really enjoyed 99% of my stay. This hostel is clean, welcoming, and well-run. They do an excellent job creating an environment that is comfortable yet organized. The staff are polite, professional, and give each new guest a quick & helpful tour. The common areas are stocked with functional furniture, essential accommodations, and friendly fellow travelers. I had a bad experience with an issue at the end of my stay that was poorly managed. That is the reason why I have rated 4 stars in service and three stars overall. It’s probably unlikely that other travelers will have the same negative experience I had so I would still recommend this location to others looking for hostel type lodging.

Unique and friendly environment. The space is clean and the layout is like a cozy art gallery. The staff is very warm. The manager made a real effort to talk to me and make me feel welcome. And one staff member even helped me figure out an issue with my car. What the heck. This place is fantastic.

Don't reserve if you're here for the marathon. They've cancelled reservations not long before race weekend the past two years. They say it's for repairs, but I drove by the hostel during that weekend and they appeared to be open.

Stayed two nights in the women's dorm, a neat little annex to another larger dorm, with only two beds (and no lockers). The kitchen is fully equipped and you can definitely whip up a copious breakfast out of the foodstuff provided, which I found was a huge plus.
The staff is friendly and helpful, though there's not always someone at the front desk when you need it. I found it a bit annoying to have to use my cell phone when I needed assistance (roaming plan from out of the country, so $$$$$). It could be a good idea to have a phone available for guests to use in those instances.
The place was overall quite clean, despite the clogged drain in the shower-tub. Also, the towel that I was given was full of lint and made me look like I had chest hair after drying myself.
I had a nice stay overall, the place feels homey, with the common areas and the large backyard.

This place gets a great ratting cause of the service team they were awesome and very friendly. The location not the best and the bed was too soft but all that can be overlooked they had all kinds of activities and a complimentary breakfast. If you are ever leaving and passing through Eugene give them a try.

I tried this place a few days ago to see a concert down by Wow hall. Parking was no issue; there's plenty of space on the street by the hostel or it's other building. The place is very informal compared to something like NW Portland Hostel, and more like a traditional hostel. You're going to have to be at least somewhat comfortable being around other travelers and sort of being a part of the hostel while you're there. For example, you're actually asked to remove your sheets and leave them in a laundry basket before you leave. The kitchen is also pretty much entirely run by the residents themselves aside from the provided breakfast. If you're as comfortable with hostels as I am, none of this will be a surprise to you, and I would say this is one of the better ones I've seen. The place bleeds with charm and I'm unlikely to ever forget the place.
