I don't often leave reviews, but the Emerald Iguana is exceptionally good. High quality suites with unique flair: think elite 1920s setting with beautiful and tasteful decor, updated for the 2020s guest. My priorities are cleanliness, privacy and quiet. I got plenty of all 3. This was a great place to rest. Nice pool area with hot tub, cool cottages constructed with native stone. Bathroom up to date, no plumbing glitches that can be found in other vintage venues. Relevant details: one night stay on random Monday in June. Parking is both convenient and free. Staff is engaged and helpful.

We had a 3-night stay while visiting my brother who lives in the area. It was nice and quiet and very lush landscaping. There is very limited parking when you arrive back after 9 or 10 pm. We thought bed was too hard but we had the Peacock Suite with a very nice private patio to sit and have breakfast every morning. This suite is bit weird as there is no door to the shower /sink area but does have a privacy curtain to separate it from the bedroom. Fully stocked kitchen and roomy storage areas and living room with fireplace. Located ground level. Also has a bathtub in bedroom area and separate water closet. Since this is all adult it was quiet which we love.

The Emerald Iguana was an oasis in the beautiful city of Ojai. We immediately taken by the attractive buidings around the property surounded by mature trees. Not one looking like the other. There was a Pixie mandarin tree at the front. The front desk staff was amazingly friendly on check in with several choices like contactless check in. One of the items we liked the most was the wine package and the basket that was left for breakfast. The wine glasses were etched with the B&Band the breakfast basket was chock full.

Wonderful one night stay here in Oija — very comfortable beds! The pool is perfect for relaxing. The inn offers a quiet and peaceful environment and is within walking distance of downtown and hiking trails. Lauren is a gem and a fountain of knowledge, with lots of insider tips for exploring Ojia. We’ll be back again!

The door to our room was next to the pool and I know there were others that surrounded that central focus as well. I think there might have been a couple of other rooms a bit removed. In any case it didn’t seem to matter because this isn’t the kind of place where you’re going to find a lot of kids frolicking in the pool. It’s pretty much a couples getaway oasis located at the end of a residential street just a few blocks away from the main road in town. The room had sort of a mission style feel with a cute little patio area. The property is extremely well tended to but they should take care of spider webs on the patio umbrellas.

After spending two nights here, we asked if we could stay and use the pool after checkout and they were really weird about it. They said we could only stay until 1pm, which we thought was really odd. At 1pm, there were only 2 other people at the pool with plenty of open chairs and space so we stayed. A while later, a woman actually came to find us and specifically told us we need to leave because “other guests are checking in and want to use the amenities.” We were so shocked! There were several open loungers and no one in the pool or hot tub and we were just sitting and reading.

After spending like $800 at this place the previous 2 nights I didn’t expect to be literally kicked out. What is the difference between guests checking in early to use amenities and guests staying after checkout to use amenities I’ve never been to a hotel that didn’t allow that. It was so unnecessarily rude and made us not want to return.

Treated daughter for a trip to Ojai for her 35th b-day. It was wonderful. I was referred by a friend to stay at The Emerald Iguana Inn. We selected the Leaf Suite - accommodations were cozy and welcoming with a fountain and bench seat at the exterior entry area. The suite was clean and the atmosphere was wonderful including the beautiful grounds and pool area. We also ordered body massages. Great hospitality when greeted in the office by Jaide, who also gave us referrals for eateries and places to visit. They were all good. Thank you again....spreading the word....will be back soon!!! Just spent 3 nights in the Tadpole Guest Room. Lovely! Photos on website are exact. The room & bathroom were spotless. Bed is extremely comfortable. Linens & towels superior quality. The A/C is best I've ever had in any hotel room, silent & thermostat control. The pool is very clean with luxurious lounge cushions, surrounding redwood tables & chairs for sitting & eating. Complimentary fruit infused water & yummy snacks provided all day. Staff are welcoming & accommodating. The location & grounds are enchanting. Not one negative aspect. Will most definitely return.
