We stayed in Cabin B and were absolutely charmed! The cabin is cozy and well-equipped, featuring a clawfoot tub with a shower, a small kitchenette (two-burner stovetop, two pans, four sets of plates, cups, mugs, and utensils), and a mini fridge with a freezer. The gas fireplace, connected to a thermostat, kept us warm and comfortable throughout our stay. The cabin is nestled between redwood trees that completely surround the property. It's clean, quiet, and everyone staying is neighborly. I will be back for our next family vacation! ||The cabin also boasts two porches—one in front and one in back—each with chairs perfect for sipping coffee and soaking in the serene surroundings.||Check-in was smooth and welcoming. The front office staff were kind, knowledgeable, and full of great local recommendations.||We explored the area, starting with a drive to Lady Bird Trail (about 25 minutes away). The road there is a bit steep in a regular car, but absolutely worth it. The trail itself is a gentle 1.3-mile walk on a well-maintained path, and there's a beautiful bridge over the road that’s worth a photo.||Later, we visited Wedding Rock at Patrick’s Point (just 8 minutes from the cabin) and caught a breathtaking sunset. Highly recommend making time for this!||One culinary highlight: Larrupin’ CafĆ©, just a mile up the road. Make a reservation—it was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.||Our mornings on the porch, sipping coffee in the mist, were peaceful and rejuvenating. The cabins are just minutes from the charming town of Trinidad, where we had lunch on the pier, filled up on gas, and enjoyed the ocean views.||We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend getaway.

We had a great experience here. River, the lady at the front desk, was absolutely precious and helpful!! Wifi was wonderful with no issues. Sites are nice and spacious. If you're staying in a tent, you're in for a treat. We stayed in an RV, but we walked the grounds and found where tent campers camp and it is gorgeous! Very woodsy and reminds me of a jungle. Super cool! Thanks for a great stay!!

We did not stay here. We drove through the park looking for a suitable tent site. We could have made do with one of the ten unlevel (also mentioned in a previous review) sites available, but when factoring in the charge for showers, we declined on principle. (For $42, showers should be included in a private campground!) The campground photos and reviews seem to emphasize the cabins, which look quite nice. It also appears the camp host likes to respond to the good reviews, not the bad ones, like the person who lost money using the shower. Glad we moved on.

My family spent four days and three nights at the Emerald Forest in Trinidad. The electrical and water hook ups were satisfactory. However, our stay there was less than satisfactory. What was most upsetting was how loud our campsite was. There was lots of noise pollution from the 101 highway. They told us that it would be a little loud, but we were woken up multiple times throughout the night by big trucks. However, what was most upsetting was that The staff would not return money that was used for showering to the amount of $1.50 because the showers would not automatically turn on. Each shower is $.50 for five minutes. we alerted the staff that our quarters did not produce water on multiple showers and we were not reimbursed the money. They stated that they would turn it into maintenance. This to me is unsatisfactory because if your money is taken without you receiving a good in return, that is theft. The campsite is clean and well kept however, I would not recommend it if you are looking to have a peaceful and tranquil night sleep after a clean shower.

If you are planning to visit the Redwoods please make a stop at the cabins at the Emerald Forest Cabins and RV Park. They are plopped right in the middle of a Grover redwoods and it's the most unbelievably peaceful place you ever want to wake up to. All the best things about camping without being cold or not being able to read the refrigerator at night, LOL! I'm definitely coming back and bringing family. Oh yeah, did I mention the ocean/beach was about 5 minutes away? Seriously, we had no idea! Trinidad Beach has calm beach on one side of a mountain (ok, hill - I'm from Colorado) and ocean waves on the other. Honestly it's one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I can't wait to go back.

Website stated laundry service, but none provided. This is my only complaint. Bungalow was very cute with Fireplace. Loved the claw foot bath tub. Shower was high on a pedestal, appreciated the step stool. Plenty of hot water. Soap dispensers awkward to reach from shower.
Kitchen set up was great, with ample coffee. Cute front porch and small porch in back.
No closets or drawers. Not a problem for one night stay. Plenty of Redwood trees surrounding the cabins.
Check in very friendly. Great location.

This campground is perfect for everything! You can get a cabin, they have RV hookups, and tent camp sites. They have a cute video arcade, nice places to walk around, a cute store at the office and breathtaking scenery. I was amazed at how cool this place was. It was very quiet and everyone was kind and respectful. I 100% recommend Emerald Forest Cabins & RV for your next vacation spot.

You can't top the location if you're here to spend time in the Redwoods and the beautiful coast!
We had stopped at two of their sister locations, and this was by far a happy accident that we ended up here.
Trinidad is now one of our favorite small towns!
We hit the beach just about daily (pics of that here as well) and every day was something new to discover on the beach.
Beach is pup friendly, and was a highlight of her days as well.
There is great hikes around Trinidad, we took them all! The lighthouse one was esp great! (Pics included)
Waking within the magic of Redwoods every day is what you'll experience here.
Staff, though we rarely interacted in the 20 days we stayed, were all kind and helpful.
There is a small store at the front but the market a mile down the road also is easily accessible so you'll not lack for access to whatever you may need during your stay.
There are two pup stations, one open area and one enclosed.
Lots of paths/roads to walk Fido along too, and when it is empty and not any tent campers it's nice to walk them through that forest area.

Some down sides do exist...
1. We stayed at site #16, the two adjacent sites are really small and tight! (though thankfully no one stayed on either one during our stay otherwise we'd all been rather squished)
2. Wifi lags and power issues.
We couldn't get any closer to the router unless we climbed the roof, yet the speeds lagged really bad most days.
As for the power, our pedestal switched off four times, three of which we just flipped the pedestal breaker, but the last time (a weekend) the row was out and maintenance had to get on it.
Just know this is an older park, with very old wiring and power grids hence when full, there's a high probability you'll lose power a few times (esp morning when everyone's running coffee makers, microwaves, toaster ovens, A/C, etc!).
3. Paid showers. We did not use restrooms while there, popped in to check them out but had no need for them. Paid showers is never a fun addition to any campers experience. But maybe they have their reasons?

All in all, this is a place we would return to, even with those setbacks.
And we would recommend it to anyone who's looking to see the area.
