This first time visit to your restaurant, surely has made a lasting impression, as we felt as though we were having a meal at home with family around. I found an excellent Mexican restaurant in downtown Phoenix, very close to the convention center. The food is delicious and authentic, and the staff are incredible. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are great. However, the restaurant has limited seating and can get crowded during peak hours.
I would have given it 5 stars, but the only downside is the environment. There is an open trash can near the tables, and during my visit, there was a bad smell coming from it. It was quite disappointing. I think they should take care of it.

While staying downtown for a trade show, I searched for breakfast within walking distance and this place jumped out at me. Visiting the southwest, it’s almost a requirement to get some good Mexican food while you’re here. This place doesn’t disappoint. I looked at the breakfast options but settled on the Quesabirria tacos. Perfectly done and very flavorful.

I also got the Jamaica drink, which also had its own unique flavor profile.

I am very pleased with the meal and will likely come back even during this short trip.

If you blink you might miss them. But don't miss them. I didn't order much but a tres leches cake and an iced coffee. But I've been looking for a good iced coffee that actually tastes like coffee and not ice cream. The tres leches cake was delicious and the coffee was satisfying. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Can't wait to come back and actually try their food. It smelled great in there. Thank you!

Yesterday was my third time eating at El Zaguán. I had the surf& turf burrito as a bowl and my husband had the three tacos and beer combo. Food is consistently delicious, prices are reasonable, service is fast and the owners/workers are so friendly. We love the patio dining and the late hours on Fridays. I'm really happy to have this solid restaurant as a convenient option in the neighborhood!

Absolutely amazing place! My friend and I just hosted a poetry event in their shop. Jesús and Yashira were extremely kind and easy to work with and super supportive of our idea. Jamie was the server for the evening and he did a FANTASTIC job. I cannot thank them enough!!

I also come here to get their California burritos, which are massive and feeds me for at minimum two meals. This place is such an awesome and homey shop. Their cooking reminds me of my mom’s and it makes my heart happy we have such an authentic Mexican restaurant in Phoenix. Cannot recommend them enough! 🫶
