Had to wait to be attended to at Reception for a while as no one present on arrival. Once I entered the building it smelt of smoke and like wet dog. The rooms smelt of smoke, and were so stuffy as if someone ran a hot shower for days, the hall carpets are extreamly stained, the bathroom door did not have a door knob and had 2 holes in it one poorly patched and the other so it could pass the toilet. The walls were stained really bad and The bed super uncomfortable and moved all over the place. Also our window was cracked and the outside of the window was broke. We immediately went to the reception after “inspecting” the room and then had to wait up to 45min to even speak to someone to possibly get our money back! we ring the bell and called the desk and still just waited a long time! DO NOT RECOMMEND OR WILL BE REPEATING MY STAY!

The furniture was very old and the chair was so dirty I wouldn't sit in it or put anything on it. The carpet was very dirty and the hallway carpet was dirty. It was an unpleasant experience.

The bed was clean and comfy but nothing was available for Breakfast. a one night stop after flying into Atlanta as it was convenient on the route but one no to be repeated.

We normally stay at EconoLodge whenever we travel because it is one place we have never had a bad experience. However, the one in Douglasville is horrible. We booked a room with two queen beds, but the room only had full sized beds. Although management stated that none of their rooms have full beds, they are all either queen or king. This is NOT true as the “queen” bed in our room was much smaller than the queen bed we sleep in at home. The tv did not work in our room, the bathroom smelled like mold and there were roaches crawling around. We did not sleep at all due to the people in the room above us stomping around and sliding furniture across the floor all night, along with the constant arguing and what sounded like throwing things. Of course when these concerns were brought up at the front desk, they did not care. This place is disgusting and due to the mold smell alone I will be making some phone calls first thing Monday morning because this building needs to be condemned.

So my 18-year-old daughter who is still in high school and on a grant for a transition into adulthood was staying at the Econolodge and on 1018 when inspection came to her room that was not documented in any paperwork that the service staff tried to open the door without knocking, and then enter out, continue to opening her drawers of her dresser and said it was for inspection, but nothing inside of the drawers belongs to the hotel. You can count the drawers while they’re closed. And then the manager upon my daughter, going to speak with her and Voice, her complaint, then proceeded to call the police and have my daughter removed who has paid for an extended stay And upon my calling the manager, Amanda was very confrontational would not allow me to speak to us any questions and also told the police that she felt threatened because I said I would be down there shortly to speak with a manager. Upon speaking with Amanda, she advised me that my daughter walks around half naked and wants to ask if there’s a dress code she said it’s a family establishment and I said well don’t say where bikinis as a pool and she continue to be very uncooperative and said that she was advised by her manager, Brandis or whatever or something that to remove my daughter from the property because she was voicing a complaint so if you can’t even voice a complaint about the operation of establishment then what do you Have and once I advised her that I’m very aware that I stay at the Econolodge on a very frequent basis, but will not be back. She hung up on me so I would never say at this hotel they may be pet friendly, but they’re not people friendly and she definitely they definitely need to reconsider who they have running the front desk with limited income as customer service stick skills and very uncooperativeand would call the police on a 18 year-old that it’s just voicing her complaints.

Poorly constructed building with thin walls.
Visible mold and rust in bathroom. Obviously not cleaned or maintained well.
When I called the front desk to complain about loud noises (which actually shook the building) coming from the room above me, the Front Desk told me that they are "not responsible for noise" and, as 12:30 am, suggested I check out of the property.
When I reached out to Brencie, the hotel manager, she told me that her staff had followed hotel policy in this matter. Her email blamed me (!).
Getting nowhere with her, I reached out to Choice Hotels, which confirmed that the hotel did NOT follow policy regarding room noises, profusely apologized, and added 8K points to my account due to my poor experience.
Avoid this place. Horrible experience and rude staff/management!

Note: I read the property's response to my above review and it is boiler plate crap that cannot be believed and has no correlation to reality. Choice Hotels is aware of and validated this concern, and assured me they would take corrective action.

The worst ever! Phone doesn't work, tv doesn't work, guest computer and printer doesn't work, floor tiles coming off in bathroom (no grout) and for the first time in decades, no coffeemaker in room. But all that could be forgiven or explained away but when I asked the front desk clerk to talk to the supervisor, she said the supervisor wasn't available. I asked to talk to the manager and she called the manager but wouldn't let me talk to her and told me that the manager does not speak to guests about complaints. Therefore there was absolutely nothing that could be done until the next day when someone else was on duty. I asked to see the business license which was on the wall and is required by law to be displayed, and she indeed showed it to me but then told me that the person listed as owner is actually no longer the owner. So I asked who the new owner was and after calling the manager she told me that the manager said that she was not allowed to tell me the new owner's name. Absolutely unbelievable! I'll be calling not only the local business license office but also the health department for the violations that we have seen. To top it off, I was told, when the supervisor finally responded, that this is a corporate owned location. I find that extremely hard to believe but I will be checking.

The front desk staff were very friendly. We booked 2 rooms. The king suite had a couch that I wouldn’t even sit on. It was dingy and stained. I flipped the cushion to see if it was both sides and it was. The beds were like sleeping on springs. Uncomfortable is putting it nicely. The floors were stained in the hallway to the point that it looked like filth. The tvs only had one channel. We packed our own Roku but the internet was so bad it wouldn’t even work. We booked 4 nights. But after the 2nd night we decided to leave. Between the marijuana smell in the hallway and the dirty feeling the rooms gave us. Not to mention the beds , we just couldn’t stay 2 more nights. My husband ended up lifting the bed and looked at the frame and sure enough the bed was broken. I was trying to save a little money but I learned my lesson I guess. This is not a hotel I would stay in again. Especially not with my children. We ended up going to the Best Western in Smyrna and it was amazing compared.
