Eagle Crater Lake Inn - Chemult, Oregon

The Eagle Crater lake Inn is in the very remote town of Chemult, Oregon. The motel is older and could definitely use some updating. However, I had a nice stay as the room was clean, warm, and had many nice amenities such as new, fluffy towels, phone outlets by on the nightstands, and ample sample sizes of shampoo, lotion, soaps and even shower caps. The updated heating and air conditioning system was easy to regulate. The fella at the front desk was great and helpful and made sure the snow was cleared off the parking area and my walking area was clear. I would definitely stay again.

Really nice owner. TV didn't work in our room. He let us move to another room where the TV worked great. Got to watch Survivor you know! Rooms are comfortable, clean and nice.

We really enjoyed our stay and the staff were very friendly - plenty of complimentary tea and coffee available and there is the added quirk of two Royal Navy transport planes right next door.

Location is perfect for a visit to Crater Lake through the north entrance. Very easy to find in Chemult. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. You can tell they have been recently updated. The inn keeper was so friendly and accommodating. I had a lovely stay.

Do not let the outside appearance fool you. It looks like a 1950’s roadside motel so we almost decided to not stay. However, once we went into the room we were pleasantly surprised. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was updated and very nice. The heater was hard to figure out but the owner was very helpful so it took little time to figure it out. Yes, the room was small but we were glad we stayed there. We had booked through Expedia and we wish we had gone through the owner instead.

My girlfriend and I stopped here on a road trip. You never know what to expect when staying in a small town, but sometimes you find a gem. This place was recently renovated and felt like home, if only for the night. Chris (the owner) who was running the front desk at the time was one of the most genuine people we encountered on our entire trip. He put in so much work to make our stay comfortable, offered suggestions about where to go, and was just fun to talk to in general. With it’s proximity to crater lake I don’t know why you wouldn’t stay here.

I booked this only a couple of weeks out, so other lodging was not available. We paid $268 for one night for two king beds. The linens were clean, but low quality. The floor was sticky and there were ants. The bathroom walls were simply plywood that had been painted. Lots of chipped paint around the doors. Wi-fi was incredibly slow.

On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

In short, book earlier so that you can find a better option. Or, be willing to drive a bit further so that you can pay less for a whole lot more.

Great experience. Christopher and his wife have done a great job renovating this property that they purchased 18 months ago. ||Chemult is a very small city, the closest to visiting Crater Lake recreational area. All hotels and businesses are located between train tracks in the back and highway in the front. Eagle Crater Lake Inn is set back from the main highway, so the hotel is very quiet. ||The lamps on the tables on each side of the bed are on a 'rheostat' which I have never experienced in a hotel before. This made it very nice to be able to adjust the light brightness.||We stayed at 7 different hotels on our 2 week trip, and the Eagle Crater Lake Inn was by far, the most comfortable bed and pillows. Great Columbian coffee was available with a breakfast of selection of bagels, toast, english muffins and hot oatmeal in the main office.||To some, this hotel may seem a little high in price, but when you consider the number of days during the year the surrounding recreational areas are open, and Chemult is the closest to these areas, the price is very reasonable.
