I first went to Dutch's about a year ago, and have been coming back once or twice a month ever since. The food is top notch, and it's evident that they use high quality ingredients. Maybe the best way I can describe the menu options are "not boring". You can get a fried chicken sandwich at a dozen spots in the Oakley/Hyde Park area, but only here can you get a smoked chicken sandwich with white BBQ sauce, jalapenos, and cheese curds. One of many inventive (and awesome) menu options.

What's kept me coming back so frequently is their drink list, which for my money is the best selection of beers in the city. It's a frequently updated/well curated list of local favorites and hard to find global beers. I've had some great Belgians, stouts, and sours here, and discovered some new personal favorites. I know if it's made it to their menu it's there for a reason.

Last but not least, the service is always amazing. Good people who love their community. Time for patio season!

We love Dutch’s for dinner or drinks and apps. Everything we’ve had has been great and we love the patio. Beer is always fresh too! Sometimes, service can be slow to get your check to you but it’s nice to relax and hang out. I was able to bring my baby in her stroller to the patio with only 1-2 steps that we had to carry her over. The staff is always very friendly!

Moved to the neighborhood recently, and Dutch’s has quickly become our favorite spot. Want a drink and to sit in the patio with our dog? Dutch’s. Want a fun dinner to watch the game? Dutch’s. Want somewhere to bring friends who are in town for food and drinks? Dutch’s. Food is great and vibes have always been on point.

As someone who tends to go for lighter food, I wish there were a couple more options that were vegetarian or just a little less heavy, but my husband has adored everything he’s gotten and I have enjoyed mine as well. The squash soup is DIVINE. I’m honestly shocked their Google rating isn’t higher- seems to be older reviews holding it down because it’s truly a wonderful spot. We’ll definitely keep coming back regularly!

They've been through a lot of changes in the last few years but Dutch's is a solid neighborhood option. Good beer list and a great happy hour. The food is delicious as always, but the prices are still a little high. Great staff!

Over the last year or so, Dutch's has reopened under new ownership by the folks who own Red Feather Kitchen. This means elevated food in a revamped casual setting. There are more tables than there used to be under the previous ownership that focused more on carryout. My wife and I stopped in for a date night and sampled various dishes on the menu.

We started with a wonderful cheese board ($14 for 3 kinds of cheese and accoutrements). The selection of cheeses was a great mix and we really enjoyed this delicious start to the meal.

My wife spotted others snacking on the truffle popcorn ($6) and had to give it a try. The flavor was definitely unmistakable, and while it's not my favorite thing, it was at least worth a try.

We split the smoke chicken sandwich ($14 with a choice of side dish). This adds pickled jalapeno, white bbq sauce, shredded lettuce, and Dutch's unique "American" cheese crumbles. This was a big sandwich and was very good. The potato salad on the side was a nice mixture of local red potato, mustard seed, and mayo.

My wife also had to try their butternut squash bisque ($6) which she declared the best she's had. Overall we had a nice meal and we should be back in the future!

Always wonderful, Dutch's is a quaint and very chill restaurant in the heart of Hyde Park East. If you want that chill vibe, come early (like we did) and sit at the bar. The beer and wine is always top notch and the food menu is by the great minds at Red Feather (see my review). I had the Cuban sandwich and my wife had the pimento cheese burger, both phenomenal! The bartenders are all so friendly and just really down to earth folks. My wife had a really fantastic Cabernet and I had the pumpkin lager. Wonderful time as always! Keep up the good work D!

We live down the street and love this place! The food is really good, especially the smoked meats, and they have a great beer selection. They have a patio with immaculate vibes and it is kid-friendly. Also, it is close to the Wasson Way Trail and pickleball courts across the street! 🙂
