I had a work trip and have never been to Alabama...I picked this DoubleTree based on being a loyal Hilton member and reviews. That being said, this has been one of my favorite stays. Rooms are clean, pool is a bonus, gym is nice, bed is comfortable, breakfast is delicious, and your drinks will not disappoint (thanks to my new favorite bartender, Kim). I travel quite a bit for work, but I feel the friendliness and quality is held to a very high standard and I understand why they are always booked and sadly, I couldn't get an upgraded room. I met so many other professionals working for the company I was traveling to and they all told me it's the only place they stay when they travel to HQ. That being said, stay and you won't be disappointed...they care about the customer experience and take feedback seriously.

I stayed here for a conference in Birmingham. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but I was not at all impressed with other offerings. I paid $18 for their breakfast buffet, which was theft for what was available. What food was out was bland, there were no cups available, and things clearly hadn’t been stocked. By the time I sat down to eat what I’d self served, I was immediately greeted by someone with a bill. Waffle House has better food, service, and value compared to the food they had at their buffet. Same quality as any complementary breakfast at a cheap hotel. I’ll factor in breakfast when picking my next hotel.

Poor customer service. I did not receive my cookie. I could not check in early. They did not explain how purchasing beverages worked. They pointed to the back and stated the vending machines were located in the back without assistance. I asked a kind Spanish speaking cook, who led me to his break room to purchase a drink. While walking through the lobby the manager then assumed that I didn't pay. In general, please be hospitable since you are in the hospitality industry. If I wasn't doing a seminar here, I definitely would have chosen another hotel.

Positive: Rooms were good-sized. Check in was quick. Negative: Complimentary shampoo and body wash were both empty. Someone before us had smashed a bug (?) on the ceiling. It was not cleaned off. Main issue: the hotel was out of chocolate chip cookies. Staff was dismissive. How does a hotel known for this run out?

If I could leave zero stars I would. The management here has to be the worst people I have ever experienced. I book here weekly for work. I have a travel agent who books for myself as well as multiple others who come in for work near by. My trip was delayed due to traffic so I called to move my check in date. The manager yells at me about a confirmation number (that I provided for her) tells me that I am being ignorant and proceeds to disconnect the call. This is for work. This is not for pleasure and the fact that this is how you guys handle business is distasteful and completely unacceptable. I have alerted my company to no longer use this hotel or company for our stays moving forward. As a Hilton Honors member I am completely disgusted with the managers behavior. She would not provide a name but I would like to make it clear that as a manager she needs to be properly trained on how to speak to guest while assisting with transactions and how to communicate with respect. I did not once disrespect her so I’m confused. All calls are record correct?

Pros: Clean & staff were friendly||Cons: Air-Conditioning said 67 in room and it was cooler out in the hall at 71. We used Booking.com this year and last year and our room last year was better than this year and bigger. We went to the SEC Tournament Saturday and after a hot day wanted to finish the last game in the room. There was no SEC Channel on our tv but they did have a ACC channel. Next year I will check with Doubletree before I book and if they don’t have the SEC Channel then we will probably stay somewhere else. The pillows on our bed were square but we talked to the cleaning people and they got us some longer pillows. I believe the pillows need an upgrade. We paid over $200/night for 3 nights and the things I mentioned should have been fixed or upgraded. I think we got a room that the hotel made some money off of……it was on 3rd floor one of the smaller rooms with little chair not big chair like the room two doors down. ||Cookies were not warm like last year either. Overall the price made it disappointing because of air, pillows, cookies & no SEC Channel.

Excellent experience. Customer service was incredible. Our TV would not come on. When I called downstairs there was someone in the room in five minutes to help. The rooms are spacious. A little rough around the edges (eg, cabinets are falling off hinges, sofa looks a little worn). It does seem like it may need some updating, but overall we would return!

Paid parking for all guests including those using handicapped spaces and diamond member guests. Multiple business people were written a fake ticket even after having obtained parking validation. Worst of all a roach was left in the hallway in front of my room for 3 nights after notifying the hotel. Broken ice machines on two floors, dirty room windows, and a business center with no access to email. Peachtree Management, Parking Management Company, and this DoubleTree’s management all appear to have no concern for guests and only money yet they don’t understand these issues will cost them more over time as loyal Hilton Customers will choose to stay elsewhere due to feeling unwelcome.
