Sadly, one of my worst flying experiences in 50 years, where do I begin? Prior to my flight I attempt to prepay for luggage for two days without success and no answers. Arrive at Orlando airport with enough time. Logging in to a terminal I only receive tickets for seats "yet to be assigned". Find Delta agent directing us to a line. But we must use another machine and get luggage tickets, entering the same info we did in the other machine. New agent directs us to another line. Arriving eventually at the desk, new agent frets that we missed our flight and cannot proceed, were sent to the wrong line, and directing us to an adjacent line. Much more time wasted with Delta. Next agent criticises us for being too late now, that 'basic economy' means we have no options but to lose our flight investment. Our only option, which she is not authorized to do, is book us on a flight the next day and charge us $75 each for 3 passengers. We take it since the Delta manager says they can nothing more. Delta then resells our tickets to 3 other passengers for a significant profit. We then bought a hotel room and meals before arriving the next day. Ticketing manager now says that the other manager should never have re-booked us and charged us. They should have just put us on standby for subsequent flights!!! So why should I consider flying on Delta again? I never had such problems on Spirit, the cheapest airline I every used!
