Convenient location for Emory students but the two coffees I got here were a miss in my opinion. I got a small iced apple crisp latte, and it did not taste good, definitely didn’t taste like apple or anything related to the fall. Also, I think some drinks are overpriced compared to how they taste. However, the staff is very nice and conversational!

The spiced apple chai latte was tasty though! I’m finally one for three here.

I was so excited to have dancing goats on campus. It seemed like a beautiful cafĆ©, and after seeing how great the addition of Costa was to the atmosphere and comfort of business school students, I was eager for health students to see the same. However, I have been greatly disappointed. Every single drink I’ve ever ordered was so bad that I could not finish it (and I hate wasting money). There are NO food options. Costa, on the other hand, can give me a warm ham and cheese croissant sandwich with tomato bisque on the side or lox and cream cheese on toast if I please. They have their zucchini breads, banana bread, cinnamon rolls etc. I just seriously don’t understand the concept of dancing goats. Making a decent coffee isn’t that hard.

A Perfect Blend of Coffee, Culture, and History!

Dancing Goats Coffee, nestled within the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, is much more than just a café—it’s a tribute to the rich history of coffee and its global journey. The name ā€œDancing Goatsā€ is inspired by the Ethiopian legend of Kaldi, a goat herder who discovered coffee centuries ago. According to the story, Kaldi noticed his goats energetically ā€œdancingā€ after eating the berries of a mysterious bush. When he tried them himself, he experienced a similar burst of energy, leading to the discovery of coffee. This meaningful nod to Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee, perfectly aligns with the global health focus of the Rollins School.

The historical connection alone makes this cafĆ© worth a visit, but the coffee itself is what truly shines. Whether you’re a fan of a classic drip coffee, a velvety latte, or a perfectly pulled espresso shot, Dancing Goats consistently delivers rich, aromatic, and flavorful beverages. Their commitment to quality and sustainability is evident in every cup.

As an Ethiopian, I couldn’t be prouder to see this cafĆ© celebrate the contributions of my country to the world. Coffee Arabica, Ethiopia’s gift to humanity, has become a global phenomenon—a magic drink that connects people, cultures, and traditions. Seeing this legacy honored here at Emory fills me with immense pride. It’s a reminder of Ethiopia’s deep and lasting impact on the world, not just through coffee but as a beacon of culture and history. For anyone who enjoys a cup of coffee, it’s important to remember its roots, and this cafĆ© does a wonderful job keeping that story alive.

The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, with a modern yet relaxed vibe that’s perfect for students, faculty, or visitors. The seating is comfortable, making it a great spot for studying, casual meetings, or simply enjoying a peaceful coffee break. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to recommend a drink or discuss the café’s fascinating history.

If you’re on Emory’s campus, Dancing Goats Coffee is a must-visit. It’s a place where rich flavors, exceptional service, and cultural heritage come together. Whether you're a coffee enthusiast, a history lover, or just in need of a great cup of coffee, this cafĆ© offers an experience that’s as meaningful as it is delicious. Highly recommended!

I had the matcha and it was amazing! It wasn’t over sweetened, made well, and actually ceremonial grade deliciousness. Everyone working is so kind!

Dancing goats somehow always disappoints me šŸ™ their matcha is not good quality, even though they claim that its imported from japan (i dont believe them but also I haven't had it in a year so maybe my judgement is wrong) but I did have their fall special: apple chai latte recently and not only did it not taste like chai or apple so i couldn't even finish half of it because it was so disappointing, it was also almost $7!!!! outrageous. good place to work, and nice workers for sure, and i like their raspberry cheese danish but why can't they have better or even decent drinks!!!!!

Really enjoyed this location, as it’s nested in a very convenient location for students and staff alike.

Here are some pros and cons:

Pros:
1. Excellent customer service
2. (cold-take) Their cold brew with salted caramel syrup is pretty fire
3. BIG, NEW study space (heads up: under school wifi but EmoryGuest is accessible for guests)

Cons:
1. Prices could be a bit friendlier to undergrad and grad student’s wallets

Overall, great place to get a coffee/tea, study, and/or hang with friends šŸ™Œ.

This is my favorite location. The baristas are super nice and knowledgeable! However, I can't recommend the pastries, they're always stale.
