It was right in the heart of the downtown, a close walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and where my conference was located. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a mixup on my part with my room, but the staff did their best to fix it is soon as possible! The pool was clean and quiet. I highly suggest staying here.

I had a lovely stay at the Courtyard Decatur Downtown location. The rooms are clean, the shower works amazing and overall I would recommend this hotel if you're staying in this area. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful and patient.

A few notes, however. The outlets in my room were all very wiggly. My chargers for my devices were barely hanging on and a few times my phone hadn't charged at all during the night. Another thing is the sound of the doors. No matter how slowly and politely you try to close them, they end up slamming very loudly. At all times of the day. Last but not least, there was a fire alarm test/drill that had been scheduled but the only notice was in the parking garage elevator. We didn't see the notice until after the fact. Scheduling a fire alarm test at 9am was awful.

The rooms weren’t terrible and the lobby was nice. Plus I liked the location and being in the same hotel as the book conference I attended. My issues were the bedding and the service. The pillows go flat near immediately and the linens were so light it was hard to sleep without being cold. The second night I asked for an extra blanket but every time I tried to call down, the line either kept ringing or gave a busy signal. When I went down to ask in person the employee was just on a laptop but said he would send one up. 2 hours later still no blanket so I just let it go. The 3rd day we were there, I asked for our room to be cleaned/refreshed and the front desk said we were already scheduled for it that day. Alas, came back that night and no cleaning was done. I understand the price was high because of the location and the event but it was pretty frustrating to feel like the cost wasn’t worth it at all.

My stay is set up for 21 days ( my company paid for that)the first week they cleaned my rooms every other day as per request but today is April 2/ 2025 and they didn’t clean my rooms since last Friday so had been 4 days. Also complained about the AC and they ignored me.
I would make sure my company knows about this situation.since they rented for two more weeks
The way the doors close it make a lot of noise since they slam waking up you.
If I can leave and paid with my own money I will do it.
Never ever Again……..

lgbtq+ friendly - The staff this week at the hotel were awesome while I was with a group using the conference center. I'm sorry I can't remember all names but Roger and Roxanne really made my stay better, kindness goes a long way! Everything I saw was clean and tidy which made it comfortable. It's definitely a busy place but tons of awesome restaurants, stores, etc within a few minutes walk. I will definitely recommend this place for work and friends.

My stay here was interesting. I felt moderately comfortable in my room. It was clean. I was told by the people who organized my trip that there was breakfast at the hotel, but when checking out, the front desk guy said I had no breakfast added to my reservation. Interesting discrepancy. I felt extremely uncomfortable in my bathroom. When I turned the shower on, it smelled like urine, meaning that the either the tub or shower curtain have not been cleaned. There was also yellow staining everywhere. There was hair in the sink that was not mine. Additionally, while I was preparing the leave for the day, someone Im assuming is housekeeping knocked on my door at 8 AM and tried to open it. Only after I said “hello?!” did they say “sorry” and went away. It was weird and uncomfortable. The parking situation was horrible. I drive a small car and could not fit into any of the parking spaces on the top level. I had to drive to the bottom level, which was scary, being that I was traveling alone as a woman.

Every touchable surface dirty. Cleaned myself with Clorox wipes. Bathtub grimy. White socks were black from walking on floor in under an hour as I unpacked. Fridge in room doesn’t cool beyond room temp. Maintenance guy gave me an attitude about fixing it. Didn’t fix it & I had to call several more times, each time only getting an okey-doke. Hotel seems to think it is normal & acceptable for me to buy my own fridge from Amazon, offered to hold it for me in their back room until I can get it. I have bags of ice in fridge to see if that helps keep it cool. Re: parking, there is a public, city parking garage without monitoring behind the hotel at basement level. The parking spaces are only for bicycles & mini- sized cars though. If you have a normal car, truck or minivan, beware. It is also a park at your own risk garage.|Other than that, average room.

The evening I checked in the lady at the front desk was rude - no hi no good evening “what’s your name” I said it three times because she kept saying “what’s? What? What?” Then she said “and why are you here ? What company / business do you have?” I felt like I was being scolded by a parent.
No upgrades available for this titanium member because I guess they were sold out. Didn’t offer or ask if I wanted a snack or points - I had to ask where do I park ? Where is the gym? To which she still had an attitude and pointed “gym is there …” and by the way. When you look in the lobby, there is absolutely NO signage to indicate where the gym is. Parking is a little sketchy in that you drive around the building into a parking lot that’s only secured by a single arm gate - while it is well lit I didn’t feel like it was secure / safe when you’re a woman alone parking / walking into a garage, then an elevator shaft, then down a hallway through heavy doors to alas reach the hotel. Oh - didn’t even know they had a pool because again - the lady up front didn’t tell me ANYTHING about your property.
Second, room is somewhat updated - pillows were ROCK hard foam. I requested new pillows which I did receive. The blankets are so thin and the heater is not efficient in the room I was quite cold most nights.
A lot of dust ! (Not good for someone with asthma) The outlets are broken and filled with dust, pretty sure it’s a fire hazard And no covers on the lights. Urine stains on the wall behind the toilet - had a terrible odor, there were also various stains on the ceiling and little hairs. Also walls are very thin, I could hear people’s full conversations in my room through theirs.
The saving grace was Mr Elmont at the front desk who grabbed me some toothpaste, he was very friendly and smiled - he should be greeting people when they come - he’s the only reason I didn’t leave 1 star. I would never stay at this location again. Cons: Not good for kids, expensive / limited bistro options. Thin linens. Pros: easy to walk to restaurants.
