I stayed here last year and had a great experience (see earlier review). I opted to stay here again while I was in the area and was less than impressed. I am not sure what happened but this visit was of a much lower caliber than before. The staff member who assisted me at check-in seemed to have a lackadaisical approach and made it seem like I was an inconvenience. I inquired if mobile check-in was working (checked -in on the app around 7:00 am) and was told "we just didn't get around to do those." I realize I am nit picking but it also just doesn't seem right to have front-desk staff in jeans and a sweatshirt.||The hotel itself is located in a great location with plenty of parking and eating options close buy. The hotel common areas are spacious yet seemed a bit lacking in the cleanliness department. The room was also spacious and quiet. Room cleanliness left a bit to be desired. It was apparent the rooms was cleaned but it did seem like it might have been done in a rushed manner. The shower definitely needs some work, especially the surface mold on the wall near the ceiling.||Quite a different experience compared to the last visit. Perhaps it is time to explore other Marriott options when in this area.

Friendly hotel in Akron. Some shops nearby with local arts. Decent gym. Breakfast takes time b/c you line up for food - prepared one dish at a time.||Best feature was being able to walk out from the hotel to Luigi's a very good family Italian restaurant about 50 yards from the hotel. Great family-run, warm Italian restaurant. Try the baked spaghetti and salad with chesse!

Hotel was 5 mins to downtown Akron. The staff were really helpful. Rooms are average. They have pool and gym. A small bistro that serves breakfast and evening small bites. Price for hotel room was reasonable. The toilet flushing had great pressure because you can hear toilet flushing from neighboring rooms.

Nice clean room but lack of continental breakfast or free coffee (unless you count the AWFUL coffee you can make in your room- but it's awful at any hotel). Starbucks in the lobby is not as good as included coffee and food if you ask me

I stayed 4 nights here. The hotel staff were super friendly and efficient in checking me in and out, sending maintenance to my room for some issues, and the like. The location of the hotel is a bit annoying to get to, and the surrounding area seemed sketchy in some parts, especially when you have to park further down then you'd like by the pillars of the elevated expressway.

The room was standard, but mine had issues unfortunately. When I first walked in, it looked like someone had just left, and pretty nasty overall (stained sheets, unknown liquids on the nightstands, food left behind, etc.) Got cleaned up super fast when I called the frontdesk, but it was annoying having to call them over and over throughout the week when the replacement towels and sheets they kept bringing me were dirty. The shower didn't seem too clean either, couldn't tell if there was mold or just a bad color choice for the caulk (mold green). I more than likely wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again.

Spent one night here while on a bike tour in Ohio. The hotel is a good choice for bike tourists and anyone else.||The hotel is built into a hill (yes, cyclists, it will be an uphill ride!) so I this meant I had to take the elevator down to get to my room from the lobby. Nonetheless, the room was quiet, comfortable and had a nice view of the scenic train from the window. I was grateful I could bring my bike to my room. The room was pretty large and had a nice sofa. The entire hotel felt very modern and clean and the staff were all friendly and professional.||If you are in a hurry in the morning, I would not recommend the hotel's coffee shop for breakfast -- it gets a bit overwhelmed by guests at opening time.||There are restaurants and shops in the vicinity of the hotel, as well as the scenic railroad. I didn't have time to explore but Akron looked interesting.

Huge shout-out to Amanda who is/was absolutely AMAZING!!! She was a joy to speak with. Her empathy, care, concern and compassion is/was unmatched. We encountered Ms. Amanda during a difficult time of bereavement and she was so accommodating, although conversation of a situation we encountered on our journey to Pittsburgh for our Uncles homegoing, didn't fit the area of need for a stay at this location, I will definitely plan a trip and a stay, as well as tell anyone I know that needs a place to stay with a friendly and welcoming staff to book at this location. Kudos to you Ms. Amanda!!!
