We recently stayed at the Garden Cottage, the bedroom with an adjoining bathroom is the nicest of all. The bathroom needs updating, would be nice to have more space to hang towels, clothing etc. we prefer an area to hang items vs placing inside a dresser. The shower is adequate, however there was no hot water, it was barely lukewarm, for some reason the sink did have hot water.||The other two bedrooms were not as pleasant, very dark walls, need to be lightened, to give it that cottage appeal. ||Bedding was provided, however we had to bring our own towels, bath, beach, and kitchen.||There are ceiling fans throughout with a window a/c in the living room area.||Grills available for cooking, plenty of sitting areas situated by the cottages as well as down by Lake Erie waters. The grounds are kept clean, and your close enough to Marblehead, Cedar Point and other attractions. Good views of the lake, beautiful sunsets. ||Personally, I feel this place is a bit overpriced, considering the age of the cottages and condition: unsure if they have off season rates and it does appear as though they are making some improvements.

The cottages are on the shore of Lake Erie are so cute and welcoming. Each cottage comes with a small kitchen, living area and bedrooms. The owners have kept the cabins very well and extra clean. The large yard provides plenty of room for children to play and for adults to enjoy the water views. There is a beach that provides access to the water. It provided us with a very peaceful weekend getaway. We will definitely be back!

We love this place! Last summer our group stayed in two cottages, which were really great - very clean, comfortable, quaint. This year, the seven of us stayed in the Guesthouse and the accommodations were absolutely fantastic! The place is spacious, super clean, charmingly decorated - lots of retro and antique touches - and the kitchen has all you need to prep/cook meals. We loved both the deck and the porch for hanging out, as well as the communal fire pit. Easy parking right next to the Guesthouse. The owners are very responsive and accommodating with answers about what to bring, arrival times, as well as helping look for lost phone chargers... The grounds and beach are beautiful and well kept. It's such a treat being so close to the Lake and listening to the water. We are already booked for next year!

Great time, beautiful grounds, gorgeous view, very friendly atmosphere - I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our weekends here!||||We usually stay in cottage 8, which is always very clean and well-kept. We have also stayed in Cottage 9 when we took other family with us and it was very nice and spacious. It has a good-sized kitchen and dining area. They keep books in the cottages(different ones each year, I think), which I like to peruse. We love to buy foods from the local markets to grill on one of the grills around the grounds (the owners provide propane). The family-oriented environment provides a great atmosphere for our child, and he can always find someone to play with, from the time he wakes until bedtime. We like the proximity to tourist sites, but we rarely leave because we all enjoy our time at the cottages - my child plays, my husband swims, fishes and reads, and I enjoy chats with the owners, who are always around, as well as guests. Evenings, we like to have our s'mores and drinks by the campfire!

My husband and I have stayed here twice with our 4 sons, and it was wonderful. We loved it so much the first time (stayed the weekend) that we decided to stay for a whole week last summer. It is such a peaceful and relaxing environment, and the kids love playing on the beach! We stayed in Cottage 10. It is very clean, well kept, and big enough for all 6 of us!

We just returned from our first visit to Cottages at the Water's Edge and really enjoyed it. We had initially booked #8, a small two-bedroom cottage, but once we had a look at the larger ones, decided to move to #10 as it has a huge screened porch with a dining table and lounge furniture. Since we were there a week we wanted more room to spread out and also wanted an indoor dining area. ||||The cottages were extremely clean. There is a large grassy area where our kids played with other guests, lots of great places to sit and admire the view, lovely old trees so there's always some shade, and the beach is shallow quite a long way out, so it's perfect for children. The view and the breeze were spectacular. ||||The owners are going for a retro feel, with the lounge furniture, cottage decor, and lack of TVs, which we appreciated. It was easy to relax. ||||We used the grill and the basic kitchen facilities for some meals, but visited Vermilion's French restaurant/bar Touche, the soda shop, and the Woodstock Cafe - we recommend them all. We also went into Huron to the Main Street Tavern which had excellent burgers and craft beer. ||||Had a day at Cedar Point and another day on South Bass Island - the cottage was a great home base for day trips.

Great atmosphere. The cottages are cozy, filled with lots of good books, beds are comfortable. Our child loves meeting other families and playing on the big grassy area (where there are climbing structures and toys) or on the private beach. At sunset, the owners light up the fire pit, and they'll tell you all about the lake and surrounding sites. It's got a great casual feel and surrounded by little towns with lots of great shops and food.

We just spent a week in Cottage 6, and our family of four enjoyed every minute. We wanted a rustic lake cottage experience, with easy access to Cedar Point and Cleveland, and that's exactly what we found. The kids loved swimming, fishing, combing the sand for beach glass and playing with other kids in the large grassy area. We read and knitted overlooking the lake, and sat around the campfire making s'mores at night. The owners and other guests were friendly and welcoming. We spent some days relaxing by the lake, and also visited Cedar Point, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Ray's Indoor Mountain Bike Park. Some of us also went fishing for walleye and caught dozens. This was a great home base for nearby attractions. ||||The cottage was clean and basic, with comfortable beds, a full-size fridge and adorable vintage kitchenette. Some days were cool and breezy, and we were able to keep the windows open, but on other days we definitely appreciated the air conditioning. We would happily stay here again.
