It had been a couple years since I had made my way over to Comedor as my experience prior to this one was slightly lackluster, but with our most recent experience, Comedor was firing on all cylinders. We managed to try almost all the small plates along with the papas and a couple desserts, which ended up being perfect for 4 people (we didn’t even venture into mains).

Overall amazing food, with some of our personal favorites being the Pescado Ahumado, the Empanada Veracruzan, and the papas. It was also a privilege to get to have some huitlacoche along with our quesadilla as this is a delicacy I do not come across very often.

The desserts were 10/10, with the dark chocolate tamal (a mainstay) and a brand new flan dessert with compressed strawberries (hard to comprehend how good this was).

10 out of 10 across the board! I thoroughly enjoyed my evening here! The service was excellent & the atmosphere was very date night like which is what I was going for. The bone marrow tacos stole the show! 😻

The atmosphere is great with an open concept with lots of windows, al freso and lots of plants and water feature. Then the culinary experience is next level. You can taste how fresh the corn is in the tortillas and empanada. The smoked flavors in the chicken were incredible and delicious wrapped into a tortilla or alone. They definitely have some great sauces too. Great to share. The location on Colorado is great but you may miss it - look for the corner black structure. Highly recommend.

Substance is outweighed by style just a bit too much. I’ve had better for less. Service is friendlier than the space, which is hard to find and hard to see in. Staff were very accommodating about food preferences and restrictions. My cocktail was fine but overwhelmed by ice. Entree prices run a wild span. The chocolate tamal and papas frites hit the spot though.

Just enjoyed an incredible meal at Comedor! Recently recognized in the Michelin Guide, this spot offers a chic yet cozy atmosphere. The bone marrow tacos and quesadillas with huitlacoche are must-tries. Chef Philip Speer's modern take on Mexican cuisine is a game changer. Highly recommend giving it a try! 💖🍽️

Go for the bone marrow tacos stay for everything else. Every bite is an experience. The only thing I didn't think was that special was the quesadilla but I will for be eatting here every time I come to Austin in the future.
